Comet - completely incompetent liars (Comet)

I would not recommend using this electrical store as I have had a very bad experience with them recently which involves a catalogue of errors and being lied to by so called managers at the customer services centre!! I saw the ad on tv for the xbox 360 deal - £166 for 60gb xbox 360, 4 games and extra wireless controller and went online to order one. This is where the problems begin - first off it said you could have home delivery but go to checkout and it says collect only (the closest store was 30 miles away that had it!) so i rang them and ordered it over the phone for home delivery after an hr on hold. I asked for the as seen on tv add and even offered to give her the product code, she said no i know which one its the one with all the games, I said yes and so went on to process the order. Once I had hung up I noticed online that just the 60gb xbox 360 was the same price as te package so thought i'd better call back to ensure the correct one had been ordered. Well it hadn't so I asked for it to be changed, I was told she'd done it there and then blah blah and delivery would be the following tuesday. Tuesday came and went and no delivery so wednesday i rang them to find out why, for some reason it hadn't been dispatched so it was re-ordered for delivery the next day. Later on wednesday i recieved my order confirmation via the post, it only mentioned the 60gb xbox 360 and had the wrong product code, so i rang them again and asked for it to be checked - I was told yes there's a note on there you will definately be getting the package deal. Anyway thursday comes and my parcel arrives and yes, you've guessed it, it was not what i asked for but the basic xbox 360 60gb, no games, no extra wireless controller. By this point i was not a happy chappy by any means so i rang comet once again only to be told by a manager that the offer was while stocks last and they were sold out - they were in stock when i ordered it!!!!! She didn't offer me any alternative just a refund which would take 5-7 working days - which meant i wouldn't be able to get another in time for christams as this was supposed to be a christmas present for my partner! I asked to speak to another manager and was told the same thing quite rudely by him also, so i accepted a refund and was told it was in the system and processed and was already on its way back to my account and their ourier service would phone to arrange pick up. Monday came and no phone call so i rang AGAIN - only to find no refund had yet been processed - i was told best thing was to take it back to the store and he was completely unhelpful! Summary: Dont use, especially their ordering by phone service! |
