bad service and policy (Comet)

Advantages: cheaper on some items

Disadvantages: not worthy at all for any prices

I bought an Acer Laptop in a Comet store on 3ed/07/2009, for 5 days the laptop kept working fine for 1 day and next day got something brakdown, then I recovered it with a backup cd which I made myself at the first palce and it worked fine again ... and then somthing was wrong again , for 5 das doing the same thing.
I tried return it in another Comet store but got refused and been asked to go back to the brench I bought from. I exprained I had been told by the saleman that I can return/exchange/repair at any Comet stores. But I just got lots of excuses and been forced to go back to the 1st store.
Ok, I took another 3 hours to go back to the 1st branch, and I still got refused for a refund, " simply...... Comet dosen't do refund, if the item is faulty, we will do repaire but not refund" I was told.
I told the manager that I asked your saleman very clearly that "if any problem, can I get refund and your saleman replied to me " yes, you have 14 days to get money"". The manager dosen't believe what I said and asked me "to come back to told to the saleman as he is not in today", I said " I bought from Comet, not from that person", then the manager said "" well, if you put it that way, then I would say " Come just dosn't do refund""...........
So, that's the end of my story, and later I will write to the trading stander og for help.

It's really not worthy for saving 10% and just wasting the rest 90% of money. My friend had same issus with PC world in May when he bought a laptop and the dvd player brokdown 20 days later. He got the full refund in another PC world brench without a question being asked.

Shop wisely, the store service is more expensive than the item itself.

Summary: don't shop from Comet - a very simple rule for everyone
