Disadvantages: so full of shit when you have a problem/broken/fault

I paid £120 to these shysters for some corsair ram that
upon installing I found that one of the sticks was faulty and immediatly returned to the store with the faulty goods to get them replaced but was told that they would not do that.This memory has a lifetime warranty with the manufacturer.

First off as it was getting to the close of the business day on a Saturday afternoon I was fobbed off by eclipse saying that the memory was fine and that it was just me(I have been building pc's for myself friends,family and my company for over 5 years) and that they would charge me for testing the memory which I refused and would like to see it working,to which they took me into their back room and there was this one stick of ram setup on a desk but the monitor showed that windows was failing to load up....when i said that my pc would not even boot up and asked them to restart their test system with my memory in they refused to do so because that the hard drive on the system was not theirs(....?) and that if they restarted it it would wipe the hard drive.....do they think I'm that stupid?

So I took my memory,politley refused to pay them and waited till after the weekend.What they did not know then was that my m8 had bought all the components to build the exact same spec pc as mine and my memory would not work in his either yet his memory would work fine in mine.
So armed with all this on the following Monday I returned to the store where they finally agreed the memory was faulty and that they couldn't replace it but would have to send it off to be replaced and would have to wait at least 28 working days for any response.

On a side note while I was waiting for them to agree that the memory was faulty i went to their sales desk and asked for this memory and it was in stock but when I told this to there customer services they had a go at me for doing this.

So after spending another hour of agreeing to disagree over there obligations I left the store empty handed and had heard nothing from them till I phoned them up on 21/8/07 to which i was told rather rudely that it has not been 28 working days and that there was still 5 days to go.

On the 22/8/07 at 5.30pm I recieved a phone call from eclipse to say that my memory was there waiting for me to collect but being as I was still at work I was not able to pick it up until just before there closing time at 6pm. After hurridly grabbing the memory and going back to work I arrived back home gone 8pm to which I find that the memory they have given me is not the same memory that they were supposed to replace but one of the same brand but considerably cheaper in price....nearly £30 cheaper

I went back to the store the following day (23/8/07) with my original reciept,my RMA reciept and there RMA invoice but they are now insisting that the original faulty memory is the same spec,price and type that they have replaced it with.I have had excuses from the memory has been revised(while the original product is still on sale on there website),it is the same memory(it is quite clearly not)all the way to stopping short that I must be colourblind as thats what I originally returned.

After buggering off outside fuming and to have a cigarette one of there sales employees came up to me and told me that they are under orders not to issue refunds or store credit as they would be disciplined or worse

My original receipt,RMA invoice and their new invoice clearly state what it should be,even their own website clearly states that my part code does not corrospond to the memory that they have replaced but yet they still refuse to provide me with the proper replacement,or give me a refund or even store credit to the value of the original faulty goods. They tried telling me that all the codes on the new memory match what they sent back and I suggested that someone sent the wrong memory back because my reciept states different,they offered to let me "keep" the new memory till they can resolve this issue but if I open it, mark it,use it I've bought it.What use at all is that to me?

I have now yet another RMA invoice that was thrusted into my hands on the way out the door that states and i quote "the customer is returning the memory because it is not the one that he originally sent to us to send back to suppliers.We will have to call the suppliers to find out some more information in regards on what was sent.If the suppliers confirms that they have returned what was originally sent then it is the correct memory"

Yet still came out the shop empty handed

I phoned them last Friday to find out what was going on only to be greeted by some c0ck who was a Mr Attitude wanna be telephone tough guy on the other end who flatly refused to sort or even entertain my problem and then put the phone down on me.

If I go there again I am liable to start windmilling some cnut ,so I contacted Corsair direct who were happy to help me and would replace the ram no probs.....just send what ram I have to them....theres the problem I have no ram ,these muppets had it and all I was left with was an eclipse RMA invoice and lo and behold after finally getting hold of the morons yesterday I was told that the ram is no longer there and could not/would not help me anymore and Corsair cannot help me either ...even though these twats are on there "official retailers list",

so there we are Eclipse Computers Coventry are thieving dirty fecking shysters who have my £120,my faulty memory somewhere,my wrong replacement memory(which they say they haven't got) and Corsiar who cant do anything about it.....dont you just love the laws of our country?

Now a proud owner of a intel Q6600,ASUS commando mobo, ASUS Ageia physics card and NO FUDGING RAM to finish putting the system together:(


I'm now off to russle up a few lads who want to join me for a bonfire this weekend .......all ripped off consumers on this site are welcome....address is Eclipse computers Coventry......bring your own can,I'll bring the marshmellows :P

pmsl, tallywhacker, you need a nice large 12 bore and a complete box of carts to make sure the jobs done right !!! perhaps they shut early due to lack of custom. As for taking money, going out back and then saying they couldnt get it, id have got ape-shit and i mean A P E S H I T at them, if they tried that with em id' have probably been down little park street in the cells for beating the crap out of the useless nurk who tried it on (calm down dear its only an eclipse ...).

Thats the latest new one ive heard, so the idea then is to get them to GO out back PRODUCE the naffing item then pay for it, its always your money our till as a one way street.

When will someone shut these clowns down, and if you're reading this CTS you are TOTALLY FRIGGING USELESS, trading standards? I wouldn't trust you lot to bake a cake !!!

sorry about you finding my language too vulgar but if you'd seen what i was originally going to type that was timid in comparison

I went there again today, walked in and there was 2 customers at the sales desk and 5 at customer services, one customer at sales desk started ranting at the sales guy, apparently the customer had asked for something...sales guy walked into back and came back saying it was in stock....guy paid for it...sales guy went into back again then came back saying it wasn't in stock and would have to be ordered,customer asked for money back so he could go elsewhere and was told no they cant do a refund they would have to order the stock in

Why can we not have the right to bare arms so at least your justified to be able to shoot any tool who has just robbed you regardless of how they did it?

I still left empty handed while this commotion was going on(had missus and new baby sat outside in the car desperate for the weekly shopping trip).....drove past there later and shop was shut early.....I have no idea why that was :P
