Advantages: Cheap (as in tacky)
Disadvantages: Slow, No support, No customer care
I ordered £400 worth of goods from them on Friday 30/08/02 and was told that the goods would arrive on Monday 02/09/02 or Tuesday 03/09/02 at the latest. My Switch transaction occured on 02/09/02 and the money left my account. On Tuesday 03/09/02, I phoned (approx 1 hour on the phone) to be told that the goods had not left because they were very busy. The urgency of getting the goods had now passed and I cancelled the order so that I could re-order on-line. (free delivery) I went on-line and found that because the prices were actually higher on-line, it would cost more, even with free 3 day delivery. I therefore reinstated my order that afternoon (Tuesday 3rd) I was told that the goods would definately arrive by Thursday 5th at the latest. On Thursday 5th there was no show, so I phoned again - another hour or so on the phone - to be told that the goods had not been sent yet but would arrive on Friday 6th. On Friday 6th, guess what - no show. This time, I phoned - only about 30 minutes on the phone to be told that the goods have not been sent because my address details are not exactly the same as they had got from my bank. With a minor ammendment (one letter in the name of my house) I have been told that if the transaction all goes through OK, the goods will be despatched on Monday 9th to arrive Tuesday 10th or Wednesday 11th. I would not mind so much except for the fact that the money has been out of my account and in theirs since 2nd Sept. When I mentioned that I wished to cancel the order, I was told that there is a £10 charge for cancelling an order. I have to now wait for the goods because, financially, I have no choice. When they eventually arrive, I pray to God that I do not have to return any faulty components. I can honestly say that I will never use this company again and will tell everyone that I possibly can about my experience with them. ***Update*** It is now Wednesday
11th. I have just spoken to Eclipse Computers who tell me that the goods have still not been sent. They cannot give me any reason but someone will phone me back. I won't hold my breath, they have told me this before and surprise surprise - no call. These people are infuriating!

- 08/09/02 Just check they are still in business I tried to get their site yesterday 7/9/02 and it had disappeared. I am awaiting my credit card company to sort out an issue with them and if that does not work its' off to the courts. |
