Micro Mart and Computer Shopper who run adverts for ?Eclipse Computers? of Coventry, are running up problems for their readers who order from this company. I my case, I ordered a substantial amount of IT equipment on the 28 August 2002 just under £800+, and following the good commonsense approach I confirmed in writing. A week later the large parcel arrived from 'Eclipse' minus three items, which were out of stock. No further information was supplied on the invoice of a likely delivery date of the missing items. So, I had to contact Eclipse Computers direct to find out when these missing items were in fact going to be delivered. A simple task and a route most customer would take. Contacting Eclipse Computers buy telephone on the 10 September and subsequently is an experience to believe, (you must try it!) and still is, firstly defining what button you have to press to ensure you get to the right department, and then you are kept waiting in a long queue (15-40 mins) and then getting an individual member of their staff to look up my order number. Eclipse Computers confirmed my details quickly, however at that time, could not confirm a delivery date of when my missing stock items were likely to be delivered, and subsequently through a senior manager agreed to refund and reimburse me for the none delivery of the three items, totalling only £255.88p. I was quite happy at the that time, and I have to say, impressed by their staff that this all happened quite satisfactory, and as recommended by Micro Mart, I followed up with a letter to Eclipse Computers on what had been agreed. Three weeks plus have now gone by, I wrote my fourth letter to them yesterday, each letter has also been faxed, and to date no refund. What is also disappointing and damn right irritating, is that Eclipse Computers do not respond to any correspondence and that every time I speak to a staff member of Eclipse Computers, I get yet a different operator Name. Over the last t
wo and a half weeks I have spoken to two Darren's, a Simon, Phil, Ted, Carl and of Wednesday last a Alan and I continue to get the same old promises that reimbursement has indeed been carried out, which to date is not true. I went to my to my Bank this morning (Lloyds TSB) as the goods were purchased by credit card and hopefully my bank can resolve this simple problem of re-imbursement for £255.88. I have no problem with Computer Shopper or Micro Mart, but remember these magazines are only as good as the advertisers they carry. Although I will continue to buy my magazines, I will never purchase from Eclipse again. My fault I suppose in being drawn or taken in by the low prices on this sort of double page advertising from Eclipse Computers in Micro Mart and Computer Shopper. Clearly, however, it does not mean you are going to get full customer support from this company. Perhaps looking at all the other threads you have submitted on 'Eclipse Computers'. Yours sincerely Adge
