Advantages: Cheap,never had a prob
Disadvantages: other peaple have
I have brought alot of things from eclipse (coventry) as its very close to me and the other shops near by are very expensive.
I have brought:Abit kt7a raid MB,lots of different ram ,Hansol monitor,gf3 ti500 GC,case,hard drive and so on and i can say ive never had a problem with them.
Why am i wrighting this you may ask? Well i think i have an answer to the bad service,
my friend brought a graphics card from there and it didnt work so he took it back to them, they said they have to test it before they could do anything about it, ok thats fair enough, so they went out the back and after a while came back and said here is another card so my friend went home and that didnt work, so back again because they had given him that same card back, this time, they gave him a refund.
Now this is why i think the service is so bad, another friend of mine got a job ther and he hated it, they ask him to work extra hours for no extra money and if he said no i have plans for after work they said they would sack him if he didnt do it.
He also said they were rushed of ther feet all day (and i have to say the pay was crap anyway) so i think that most of the problems are because the workers are over worked and over streched so in turn the workers cant do ther job properly because they simply dont have time as it is a very bussy place(ive waited in line for over an hour some times).
I think the bosses are to greedy and they need more staff.
My friend gave up the job and is now unemployed so that must say some thing about the preshure the workers are under.
They need to buck up ther ideas before i buy from ther again.

- 29/01/03 If you want a really good deal with prices equal to or less than Eclipse and a service that is second to none in Coventry then I suggest you try Ballicom Direct in Far Gosford Street.
Since being yet another victim of Eclipse's "Customer Service" and having vowed never to set foot in the place ever again even if it meant giving up computing, I have found and used Ballicom and never been disappointed. The prices are great, the service is excellent and very friendly and they have a very fair returns policy which doesn't include a 2 hour wait to be told that "yes, it is faulty" or "there's nothing wrong with it".
I do not work for Ballicom and have no financial interest in their business except for the money I gladly pay over to them for parts. Believe me they are well worth a look. Forget Eclipse and hopefully if everyone else does the same they will soon be where they deserve to be - out of business. |
