Buying a full pc from eclipse has to have been my worst consumer experience. They are cheap but I paid in full for the time taken to get it fixed. When I walked into the store there was a man standing in the customer service section with a grim look on his face. I should have taken that as a warning and left then and there. I had an intuition that this purchase wouldn't work out but I ignored it.

I bought the pc and was told at the time of purchase - If it's hardware we fix it for free, If it's software you pay for it.

Later that week I picked the box up and began to use it. It was fine until it kept on crashing when playing some games not others. I took it back and asked to take a look, it all seemed fine to me. This went backwards and forwards several times, the engineers assuring me that everyone was ok, they couldn't see a problem with it. Nothing to do with them.

On my third or was it fourth visit one person told me the full story. They had only installed the base graphics driver when building the machine and now realised they should another driver with it. By this time a month had passed and now I was the man standing in the customer service section with a grim look on his face.

Apparently the recommended driver for the card, which I reinstalled a number of times wasn't the driver to use. They admitted their fault and then presented me with a bill " software issues you pay ". I was paying to fix their error. I explained that I wasn't happy with this, the time spent going backwards and forwards, only to get to find it was their error, I received no apology just a bill.

I just don't get how these people are still in business. It can only be their prices that keep attracting new customers because I doubt they get many repeat ones. Installing stock drivers for a graphics card before shipping it to a customer is a stupid newbie thing to do. Anyone who has the slightest awareness of computer hardware (which you think they would have) knows you always need to update all drivers when you build a machine. Morons.
