I ordered a Sony Cyber-shot digital Camera from Purely Gadgets in July 2007. After 11 months it developed a fault (the view-finder was very dim). I returned it to Purely Gadgets as my camera was covered by their 18 month guarantee. A couple of weeks later I was informed that my camera would need to be returned to the supplier for futher repairs, and that this could take more than 28 days. At this point I was quite concerned as I had done some research online, and read many negative reviews about them (some happy customers out there that liked the prices-but I didnt read one positive experience from anyone that needed to return an item. I ordered a Nikon AF-S 17-35mm f/2.8 lens from this site for £850, which seemed like a very good price. When I received the lens from PurelyGadgets the lens box showed clear signs of bad treatment (dented corners, etc) which happened either during transport or before. Such a camera lens is high-quality optics and should not be thrown around. I sent it back and asked for a factory-new one in impeccable condition, including the box. What I've been sent the second time was a lens where the zoom ring did not turn smoothly when rotating all the way from 17 to 35mm. Purely Gadgets is a company I will never use again. I ordered a Nikon rechargeable battery from them. They sent me a £300+ digital waterproof camera by mistake. To attempt to help the company and act honestly, I returned it to them immediately by special delivery, enclosing the receipts for the postage. How wrong I was. Despite acknowledging they had received the camera, they never even said thank you for saving them £300. Instead they claimed they had never received the receipts and refused to refund the postage. Furthermore when the battery finally arrived, it came with an invoice for four times the original cost they had quoted. ...
