Elizabeth Arden Double Density Mascara
by kama0529
Elizabeth Arden Double Density Mascara is a mascara I've been using for the past four months or so and I've been fairly pleased with it and have concluded that it's a high quality product for a relatively low price. It cost me just £7.99 from Boots, which is a very good price and if I can find it at such a good price again, I will be ... re-purchasing it once my current mascara runs out.
The packaging is fairly nondescript, but having said that, it's both functional and stylish. The mascara casing is a dark blue-black could and it has the Elizabeth Arden name on the side. The casing is quite chunkily and sturdy and it's unlikely to crack or become damaged if dropped. As with most mascaras, the wand is attached to the inside lid of the mascara tube - which makes storage and application very easy. In my opinion, the wand is a good quality, being not too chunky, but having small bristles which allows for great overall coverage of individual lashes.
The mascara itself is a nice dark black which is striking and doesn't fade with time. It's a good consistency, allowing for good overall coverage as it clings to the lashes without becoming clumpy. It doesn't make my lashes stick together, but again boosts their volume by increasing the volume of each individual lash. If I apply it in the morning, then I don't need to reapply it again until the evening and so last ability is very good.
Removing the mascara requires a good eye make-up wipe as it's quite stubborn to remove - but with the wipe it's very easy. I highly recommend this produce. Read the complete review |

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturizer For Face SPF 15
by yazzy_bum
I received the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream Gift set for Christmas which included the Lip balm, the Skin protectant 50ml, and some other intensive moisturisers which I don't believe are available to buy individually.
I have been told by friends that this is a premium product, and a beauty must have. However I have not ... previously purchased it myself due to the extortionate price, saying that since using it I have found that a small amount does go a long way and this product will last.
Since researching I have also found that it is also available online or in duty free for a more affordable price which I would recommend.
The packaging to this product is sophisticated, making it a perfect gift for a woman of any age.
It has a different consistency to normal moisturiser; it is more intensive and best used on small areas like around the lips and nose in winter. I have just returned from a skiing holiday in which it was perfect to protect my face against the elements, as it has a spf and acts like a barrier similar to Vaseline.
One small disadvantage I can see to this product is the strong medicinal scent, which I actually quite like however others have commented upon. Read the complete review |

Elizabeth Arden 2 in 1 Cleanser
by redhead78
First of all I'd just like to point out that I'm reviewing the Elizabeth Arden 2 in 1 Cleanser for all skin types, but DooYoo keeps sending me to the picture above, which is for normal skin types.
I received a mini-tube of this cleanser as part of a duty-free gift set, which was duly put in the cupboard and forgotten about ... until I ran out of my usual cleanser and raided my back up stock. I probably, no definitely, would never have bought this for myself, especially a full sized one as it's usual retail price is around £19 for 150ml, which to me is just an unthinkable amount to spend on what it basically...soap! I've just done a quick trawl on t'internet though and found it at £9.75 including delivery from cheapsmells.com which, if you like this product/brand is an absolute bargain!
The packaging is pleasant enough, although to be honest I'm not really swayed one way or the other by packaging...if I like something or someone has recommended a product that's enough for me, but this is nice and neutral and looks nice on my bathroom shelf. BUT the smaller version comes with a screw lid...yes, my pet peeve with beauty products. So it isn't really all that easy to use as the instructions say to massage a small amount into damp skin. So you have to get your hands wet to dampen your skin, then unscrew a lid and somehow manage to screw it back on again whilst trying not to let the cleanser slip off of your wet hand. Either that or leave it unscrewed on your counter top until you've finished. All made just that bit more difficult if you've taken your glasses off and the lid is the same colour as your sink top! Why oh why can't they make like that tiny bit easier and put flip tops on these things?
Anyway, the product...
I was initially impressed with this as it came out the tube feeling quite creamy and gave me a really good lather when I massaged it into my (damp) skin. It didn't really have a noticeable fragrance and smelt quite neutral really. Personally I prefer a fragrance to my skincare products, it makes me feel cleaner for some reason!
I did notice, however, that it felt quite sticky once it came into contact with the water on my skin and it took quite a lot of effort to wash it off again, especially around my nose area and in the end got a flannel out, dampened that and wiped the excess off with that instead.
As soon as I dried my face it felt really quite taut and uncomortable and I found myself gurning allsorts of funny faces trying to loosen it a bit. So I definitely had to use moisturiser after this cleanser in an attempt to soften it back to normal again. Considering this is supposed to be suitable for all skin types (and I have pretty normal skin really) I dread to think what dry skin would feel like after using this cleanser. Another strange effect it had was that it left my skin feeling, not sticky exactly, but a bit tacky so that stray strands of hair clung to my face.
My overall opinion of this cleanser was not favourable and I'm very glad I didn't spend my own money on it. There is absolutely no way I'd pay the full price (or even the bargain price mentioned above) for this and it's doubtful whether I'll even use the rest of this tube up. I'll more than likely end up donating it to my mum to see how she fares with it. Read the complete review |
