I first came across the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour skin protectant whilst browsing online, I took notice of the raving reviews but in my mind I always thought that Elizabeth Arden was more for mature skin not young skin. However, over a few months this product was in the back of my mind and I kept having the urge to try it. On payday last month I thought do it just buy it. So off I went to Boots and bought this product. It came in a small box at the grand total of £25 it was more than what I normally pay but all of the great things I heard about this product outweighed the price. So for £25 you get a 50ml tube of this miracle product. It has a capped lid at the bottom and is a squeezy tube. On the back of the tube it states that it soothes minor skin irritations and can be used for chapped, peeling, flaking skin due to sunburn, windburn, minor burns. It says that you can use it on cracked lips and scrapes too. Through my research I have found that you can also use it for:
- dry/chapped lips (as above)
- minor skin irritations (as above)
- cuticles
- on eyebrows
- use as a lipgloss
- on elbows and knees
- on spots
- cold sores
- for whole body

You only need to use a small amount too which is great as the product will last for ages. The consistency is not like a normal cream it is of a waxy texture and is orangey-brown in colour. I'm not going to lie, the skin protectant does smell but I honestly think that people make it out that it smells worse than it does. It smells medicated but the smell doesn't follow you around all day, it does go away!! I have not had any comments from others that they can smell it and I wear this every single day.

My experience with this product has been nothing but positive. I had dry cracked lips and literally after the first time I tried this product my lips were soooo smooth...so smooth to the extent where my lips don't have any lines so when I wear lipstick my lips look like they have been airbrushed. On my face, I have used it on random spots which do not want to go away and yes those troublesome spots have now disappeared. Overnight I have used some on my elbows which WERE veryyyy dry and unpleasant to look at but now they are super soft. I haven't tried it on burns as thankfully I have burnt myself. And again, I have tried using it on my cuticles as I am very lucky and the condition of my hands and nails are good. I really would recommend this product. Yes it is expensive but if you think about it you do not need to spend money buying lipglosses etc as you can just use this product. As for using this as a moisturiser on your face daily, I honestly do not know. I have not tried it my face tends to be quite greasy and I think using this would be a bit too thick however, used sparingly I am sure it will be fine. Eventually I do want to start using this on my face daily so I am planning on slowly phasing out using creams etc. The only downside I can think of is that this product does not contain any SPF and I think it is really important especially if they are calling this a 'protectant' that it should have SPF. This product really is for everyone and I love that now when I go on holiday I will save luggage space and weight as I will not need to take all of my skincare products with me I can just take this one.

Honestly believe the hype the uses to this product is endless!!!
