Advantages: None really!

Disadvantages: No plumping, still need a lip balm

I got hold of a tube of this product some time ago now, I have a feeling it was recommended by either Trinny or Susannah (or both!) in one of their books. Allegedly one or both of them was using it to create fuller lips and reduce those little lines around the lips, too.

The cream comes in a simple white tube which makes it easy to squeeze out the small amount required. Although the clue is in the name and i shouldn't have been surprised, this really is a cream not a balm - it has the medium thickness texture of any other moisturiser you'd apply to your face. Because of this, I tended to use it before bed to work overnight, since it wasn't rich enough to use on its own during the day, although the SPF30 suggests that the manufacturer intends it for daytime use. I suppose if you applied lipbalm over it, that would be ok, but i've usually overslept and don't have the time to start putting two products on every bit of my face!

~ the results ~

As i said, the cream is quite thin and while it is therefore very quickly absorbed when rubbed into my lips, it does leave them feeling in need of some richer moisturising. As i'm used to using lip balms overnight, i found this slightly uncomfortable and annoying. The cream itself is pretty much tasteless.

Having used the product for several months, each night, i honestly don't think there's any difference in the plumpness or youthfulness of my lips - i was hoping for something between Cindy Crawford and Huggy off of America's Next Top Model (OK, that last bit was a lie - that was just a nightmare I had) but even trying really hard to believe it, my lips looked the same. As i'm not a smoker, i don't suffer from lines around my lips very much (yet, anyway!) so can't really comment on the cream's ability to improve these.

Overall, I'd save the pennies and just stick to whatever lip balm floats your boat.

Summary: A thumbs down from me, sadly!
