Advantages: Gives instant gloss and shine.

Disadvantages: Doesn't last longer than cheaper brands.

I only wear lipgloss on a night out and never apply lipstick but was tempted into trying out the Elizabeth Arden lipgloss under the assumption that you get what you pay for.

- Price and Packaging -

The cost of this 6.5ml lipgloss varies and can be purchased on quite a few websites at a lower price than on the High Street but you do as always have to watch out for P&P charges.

£9.70 Asos.com
£14 Debenhams
£13.79 Boots

I bought mine from Boots some months ago when Elizabeth Arden had an offer on and since I was buying products for other family members as gifts, I thought that I'd treat myself.

The gloss comes in a slim, transparent holder. It is quite basic looking with a gold band around the top and quite a long, slim black handle with a screw top. When you take the applicator out, I was a little disappointed with the quality of it as it didn't seem any better than cheaper brands I have used. It is applied using the sponge end which contains too much of the gloss for one coating thereby creating a little bit of waste which isn't good given the cost of the gloss.
- My Experience -

This lip gloss is said to give shiny lips, containing conditioning emollients to smooth and soothe your lips.
You can either wear it on it's own, which I do, or on top your lipstick in order to give more sheen.

Over the years I have used many lip glosses often having to replace them due to mislaying them.... With most, I find that the sheen and glossy look only lasts a very short while so I was hoping for better from this one.
Unlike some other glosses, this one doesn't have any hint of a smell and doesn't taste of anything sweet. It's easy to apply with a stroke across your bottom lip and then I coat the upper lip from the bottom one.

It's ever so slightly sticky on first application but the stickiness goes and you are left with lots of shine. For me, the colour is perfect, it's a very, very pale pink, unlike what it looks like in the tube which is a deep pink so it's well worth checking the colours available on your lips as they clearly don't look the same with one thin coating as they do when all clumped together in the packaging.
So does it last? In a word, no! This could be my fault as I am yet to find a gloss that lasts any longer than half an hour in fact, the mark that it leaves on a glass after sipping from one with this gloss on, lasts longer than it does on my lips!

- Overall -

~ Gives instant shine and gloss.
~ Is a little sticky but this I think is the nature of lip glosses, well certainly all of the ones that I've used over the years.
~ A good colour for me
~ Quite pricey in comparison to others on the market which for me give the same results.

All in all, not a lip gloss that I will be dashing to buy again given the price and the only satisfactory results. Adequate but not outstanding.

- Shades / Colours -
Simply Pink
Sparkling Ruby
Honey Glaze
Mandarin Shine
Different shades available ranging from pale pinks to light brown / skin tone colours.

N.B. Review also on ciao.

Summary: An adequate lip gloss but not worth the extra pennies!
