Advantages: Smoothes out your complexion

Disadvantages: None

When I first began wearing a foundation in my late teens, (twenty years ago), I tried many different types and liked none; they peeled, they were orangey, they didn't last. Then a friend of mine, who was doing a modelling course, was told to wear Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Finish and passed the recommendation on to me. Once or twice over the intervening years, I've tried something else for a change, but I've never found anything to compete with it. I have also seen this product being called Dual Perfection Foundation SPF8 on US websites, but it's still Flawless Finish in the UK.

It comes in a black compact with a small mirror and application sponge. I use my own sponge as I find the one supplied to be OK but not the best.(I think 'Rama' sponges are the best but they're getting harder to find.)

It is easy to apply and goes on smoothly. Although it's a cream it comes in a block which helps you not to use too much. If I just want a natural look I put some moisturiser on top of the cream before application. You can control how much goes on your skin by varying the dampness of the sponge. I use slightly more for a night out, but it still has a natural look.I finish off with a few dabs of loose powder which is supposed to help it last (usually corn silk).

The shade I use is shade 09 - Honey Beige and there are of course many shades, although there don't seem to be very many for dark skin.

You can buy it in most UK department stores although you'll probably have to ask for it by name. Prices can vary. The last one I got was the cheapest I've bought at £10.99, but I have paid almost twenty pounds for it in the past. Some friends have gasped at the price but it really is value for money. It lasts me at least six months and I wear it most days.

Summary: A decent foundation for make-up.

I have just bought this and I am really diappointed the coverage is fine but its so orange and I have the palest colour they do! I might see if wetting the sponge helps at all, I do agree though the sponge is not that good! xx
