Advantages: matt feel moisturiser

Disadvantages: Pricey

I am a big fan of Elizabeth Arden products and I have been using them for years, but this is one I will not be purchasing again.
I have heard a lot of good things about this, and as I love Elizabeth Arden I know they cant go wrong. So I thought I'd give it a go... I want this illuminating complexion it promises!!!!

It is a moisturiser, that can be used daily. It claims to give you an illuminating, youthful complexion, evening out the skin. It certainly does not live up to its name.

First of all lets talk about the packaging. Lovely slimline clear bottle. Its a great idea as you can see how much you have used and when you need to buy another bottle. The packaging is very nice, and I think that is the best thing about this product.

I have been using it as a daily moisturiser hoping for it to do the job it claims. I have dry skin and it doesnt irritate it so that is good. It isnt very moisturising, so oily skins will probably benefit. It is a white cream and looks like any other moisturiser and rubs in easily and soaks up quicky.
It can be used without makeup - well I dont really use makeup daily so I cant comment. However I didnt feel as if it made any major difference to my skin. But what I will say is that is does make it feel smooth and it would make a great base for makeup.
It rubs in easily and it seems to make my skin feel quite matt, so where is that illuminating effect????
When I put it on first it seems to be there. But a minute later and its all sinked in and smooth. It doesnt work like a moisturiser, as is sinks in 100%. There is no illuminating, youthful skin at all. So it seems great for oily skins.
However one change is that my uneven skin tone is slightly even on my cheeks. So if you do have very uneven skin then you can buy this to let it make a slight change. So perhaps its worth buying it for that, but dont expect a miracle, just a minor change.

I dont like the smell, it smells very

dusty. But maybe that is just me. But once it is rubbed in you can smell it at all. It must be oil-free although it doesnt say that (well not on my box).

There is nothing special about this lotion, and certainly doesnt live up to its name. Maybe as I have normal/dry skin. If you have oily skin, then it would be a great base for make-up. Other than that, there is no reason to buy it. It is also costly at about £22.00, but I got this online at that price, so I have paid less. I think it retails for about £29.00, but dont quote me on this.
But if you want that illuminating look it claims to give, then I wouldnt reccomend this at all.....
All I will say is...this product is just not worth that price..in face any price! as far as I'm concerned I wouldnt use a freebie.

I loved your opening sentence when you said you had been suing them for years, a simple spelling mistake yet such a funny one! Sounds like you are always taking them to court! Good op though!

I wouldn't use Elizabeth Arden products on principle anyway so I'll stick to my fab animal-friendly Clarins, Clinique and Body Shop!
