Advantages: the best product eva for dry skin

Disadvantages: expensive

I bought a tube of Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream last summer before going off to Japan for a month and I really don't know how my skin would have got through without it. I don't have particularly dry skin but I still used it as a moisturiser all over my face every night and it worked so well, I never had any dryness at all. It also worked fantatically on the long-haul flight (which dehydrates you big-time).

My skin always felt comfortable and well hydrated even though the weather conditions were really really hot and I had expected the sun to do all sorts of terrible things to my skin. It also worked extremely well as a lipbalm and totally sorted dry lips out so that you could actually see and feel the difference about two minutes after putting it on. I would definately recomend this for night time use to anyone who has dry skin or for patches of chapped skin. I am currently using the balm on my cheeks which always get a bit chapped in the winter because of harsh weather and using the central heating too much.

I have sensitive skin and find that I don't get an allergic reaction to this product at all though it is fragranced. The smell is also very nice.

I've read that supermodels wear this as a highlighter on their cheekbones and browbones and if I could find my cheekbones I am sure I would do the same. I have also read that Natalie Umbruglia uses it to condition her eyelashes and eyebrows. I have also used it on my eyebrows to hold them in place but feel it is a waste of the balm when brow gel or a minute amount of hair wax does the job just as well.

I would not recommend this for use under make-up however as it is a balm and not a cream and is quite greasy and would probably stop the makeup from going on properly.
Also, only ever use a tiny amount of this as it an feel uncomfortably greasy if you use more than a little bit.

It lasts incredibly well too so it is worth the money. I
got mine in August last year for £17 at John Lewis' and I'm still using the same tube now!

My advice is to do what I did and wait for a department store to have one of those offers where you buy two products and get loades of freebies. I got my mum to buy her Red Door perfume and I bought the eight hour cream and we got loades of skincare samples, a little lipstick, a full size mascara and a really nice makeup bag.

I'm not really into makeup myself (being a bloke), but my girlfriend would surely like to read some of these, I shall tell her about you, and welcome to dooyoo ;-)

Nicely, Bigmama.
