Advantages: Certainly not a high-pressure interview.
Disadvantages: Useless, unhelpful, uninterested staff
I'm really frustrated with Adecco right now. I applied to an office job at about 8am one morning, and got a call from Adecco within about 2 hours - it was my first dealing with them. They had me fill out some online tests and set up an interview for the next day. The interview itself was frustrating, as it seemed like they had a checklist of questions to ask and didn't care about the answers at all. I think I could have answered in latin and the woman would have just said "okay" "yes" "great" "ahuh" "good" to each answer. I figured my expectations were just too high. So, I took the in-house computer training session and she said they'd call me about the job. I asked for some specifics but they said they didn't know: the # hours per week, the hours during the day the job was for, whether or not weekend work was required, specific duties, etc. okayyyyyy.... so I awaited their call to get an interview with the company (I was very well qualified for the job). After a week I called Adecco and they said they had already filled the position I interviewed for the day before I applied/interviewed with them!!! So... my questions - WHY did they bring me in to interview for this job, AND if they already filled it why couldn't they answer questions about the specifics of the job??? They didn't have an answer for me. I gave them another chance, I applied to another job - an office job, similar to one I'd done before and was successful at, and they never got back to me despite me asking them to put me on the list for office jobs! There are only 2 employees at my local Adecco, and I'd have to say both seemed pretty incompetent. I feel I would have done better to interview myself - at least I would have paid attention to my answers! Anyway, I "terminated the relationship" and am never trying them again. Ridiculous & frustrating experience.
Also, they kept interrupting my interview with walk-ins and phone calls and not even acknowledging the interruption with 'excuse me' or anything (just rather rude, didn't help the situation). One guy came in who was on unemployment through them, asked if there were any new jobs, was told of a few by the woman, and then said 'well, I don't really want to do that', and she said that she'd note it in the system that he's still trying to find a job - so he gets to keep his unemployment? Ridiculous.
Summary: They have no interest in their jobs or in finding jobs for people; waste of time.
