Advantages: Lots of Jobs

Disadvantages: No help

Having finished University I am now in the process of looking for work, both permanant and temporary.

I have been to Adecco on three seperate occassions enquiring about jobs I have seen in the window of their Newcastle office. Each time I have been in the person involved with the specific job hasn't been available so I left my number for them to ring me(They asked me to do it).

On the first occassion they got back in touch with me 6 weeks after I had been into the office. I don't consider this to be good service, if you are looking for a job you need assistance now not in two months time!

On the second occassion after a week of not hearing from them I rang them to find the person still not available, and was again told they would ring me in the next couple of days. Another week passed, on this occassion I decided that I would email them, I got a quick response which asked me for my CV, which I forwarded. I didn't hear from them again!

I was probably daft for trying again, but I did. Again I was told to leave my name and number. After two days I decided to email them as this seemed to be the best way of gaining contact. Again I was asked to forward my CV, but when I asked for details aboutI was told that the job I enquired about had been filled a month ago. When I informed this person that the job was advertised threee days previously she said she would check it out and let me know. That was six weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything.

The moral of my story is if you want to try Adecco then by all means do but don't expect a quick response if you are in the Newcastle area. Other offices may be more efficient.

I understand what you're saying and it is frustrating BUT *you* have also got to be proactive. Don't leave things weeks before following up. Ring back *next* day and carry on doing so till you get the person you want. You can't afford to procrastinate :-) Good op though.

Agree to some extent as HV below. I've had dealings with Adecco and they haven't been all that favourable. After reading loads of opinion on Agencies, especially one written by someone who has been on both sides of the desk, my advice would be to stay clear of them.
