Advantages: can put you in work relatively quickly, might get a gift voucher if you work long enough, managed to get payslips/timesheets out on time

Disadvantages: never saw people face to face, can be very unorganised between branches, very penny pinching in terms(u lose a timesheet, tough!)

I have used Adecco's services for just over a year and four months and there have most definatley been some good and bad times.

When I first went in to give my CV to Adecco, I was doing the general recruitment agency rounds. They were better than most in that they sat me down and did my tests straight away. Three hours later they came back to me to let me know I had a job. I found this quite impressive as up to this point I only had pub/waitressing experience and they had managed to find me the requested office work.

However, once I actually got into the job, I barely heard or saw them for months. Admittedly, they were very good about sending me my payslip and timesheet (with the occasional newsletter thrown in for good measure) but it's sometimes nice to know there are actual people connected to a company.

I was unimpressed as on various occasions, they would send out the message that if your timesheet was not received by them, then it was your own fault for not checking(not there exact words but summarising). There were many temps in the office I was in and not one of us thought this was the right attitude nor stance on the issue.

Consequently, I moved house and asked for my details to be forwarded to the local branch - they were sent to the wrong branch twice, and only sent after I chased them up. Which meant I couldn't be put in their system and hence could not start any new jobs.

At which point I decided not to be exclusive, and went to another company. I'm still registered at Adecco and while the staff seem very friendly they don't seem to be able to find work for me(if I was looking more permanant it wouldn't be a problem but they don't have much if you just want a couple of weeks).

It's not all bad, before I left my long term temp position they made me employee of the month(which it seems they do if you work there long enough) with a gift voucher, which is always
better than a smack in the face!

I guess they're just not people persons (which is a bit rubbish for recruiters!)
