Advantages: Large client base.

With Blue Arrow, it seems, your experience mainly depends on where you sign up with them, which could mean that it's up to the staff.
The first time I worked for Blue Arrow was in Edinburgh in 1996. I was temping for them and had no lack of work whatsoever from day one. Since I just moved to Scotland from Germany then, I was quite desperate for money (the exchange rate DM/£ was a joke), I rold them I'd do as many hours as they could give me. And they sure gave me enough - I worked and average of about 50hrs. a week. After a few weeks I wanted a break - no problem there either. So I took a couple of weeks off and then informed them that I was available again - and sure enough - I got plenty of work again straight away. The staff were generally very helpful and friendly and we even had a few parties in the office (after hours, of course).
I moved to Oz for a couple of years then, and in 1998 I came back to Scotland, this time settled in Glasgow though. Having had that good an experience with Blue Arrow in Edinburgh, they were obviously the first choice for me again, so I registered with them again, and - never heard anything regarding a job - neither temp nor permanent. After 6 or 7 visits to the office, asking, if anything was happening and getting a big NO for an answer, I gave up.
And this lack of work was definitely no slow market or anything like that, since the papers and jobcentres were packed with ads. So my conclusion would absolutely be - it's the staff that make all the difference!
