Office AngelsNewest Review: ... (the difference could've been due to the way I looked or it being a different person, but I'd still stick with the presentable look!). I had work all of that summer and even won £30 in House of Fraser vouchers just for doing little competitions they'd send in the post. This summer has been the same story; I didn't have to re-register, just emailed the consultant who I'd dealt with last year and was offered work again. I was put into an admin role that turned out to involve more than was initially described (due to the employers, not OA) but after speaking with my manager and OA, I received a payrise. I had a week off sick which I could... more |

I've recently finished temp work with Office Angels (Sutton Coldfield branch (recently relocated from W-ton)) and would recommend anyone looking for work to give them a go. I initially trawled the agencies looking for summer work in 2007 and admittedly walked into OA in jeans and with hair scraped back, gave a CV to someone that worked there and never heard a thing. Summer 2008 I spent a day going round agencies again but dressed much more suitably i.e. as a professional that someone would want to employ. Tried OA again and spoke to a different person who was extremely welcoming and invited me to register (the difference could've been due to the way I looked ... Read the complete review

When i first entered the Bromley Office Angels office I thought that this agency would be a great agency to register with, it looked professional busy with vacancies in the window. The consultant that took my cv told me to forward my CV by email also and then i would be able to register fully, she also gave me her card for a contact at the office. After sending my CV by email I waited a week and heard nothing so I called the agency bk and spoke to the consultant that had taken my cv. She couldn't even remember me, when i told her i had sent the CV she finally found it. The agency found me work but not matching what i was looking for, they paid me incorrectly by not ... I applied for a job through office angels in Preston Lancs, i have 3 years experiance as a manager in a busy service centre with various awards, I was made redundant, one of their very unhelpful staff called me and basically ridiculed me for applying for a team leader role, she made comments that i was not experianced andi was a fool for applying, she then put the phone down with that good luck manner, I did get the job but only through another agency who put me through for it . They are rude and are probably more scared that people with decent CVs and work ethic will take their own jobs.

I visited Office Angels to register and was surprised by the terms of their contract. It basically stated they would only ensure that I would be given 400 hours work in any 12 month period and that I wasn't allowed to work for any other agency whilst the contract was in force.
That says to me that if they didn't give me a job over and above the 400 hours I would be breaching the contract if I worked elsewhere which would in turn leave me open to being sued. I declined to sign it and was told that no one else had a problem with the contract.
I don't care if no one else had a problem with it - it was an unfair contract and treats the temp like an idiot.

I joined Office Angels and they found me my current job which is a full-time permanant position and I am now employed by a well known large company. When I intitially joined Office Angels, I needed to take proof of identity and address, and also have my NI number. I also took along a hard copy of my c.v. The recruitment consultant I met with was really friendly and put me at ease. She asked me lots of questions, for example what experience I had, what type of job I would like to do, what wouldn't I enjoy, it felt like she was genuinely interested and wanted to find out what I wanted to do rather than what jobs were available. She also gave me her ... Read the complete review
