I applied for a job through office angels in Preston Lancs, i have 3 years experiance as a manager in a busy service centre with various awards, I was made redundant, one of their very unhelpful staff called me and basically ridiculed me for applying for a team leader role, she made comments that i was not experianced andi was a fool for applying, she then put the phone down with that good luck manner, I did get the job but only through another agency who put me through for it . They are rude and are probably more scared that people with decent CVs and work ethic will take their own jobs.

I visited Office Angels to register and was surprised by the terms of their contract. It basically stated they would only ensure that I would be given 400 hours work in any 12 month period and that I wasn't allowed to work for any other agency whilst the contract was in force.

That says to me that if they didn't give me a job over and above the 400 hours I would be breaching the contract if I worked elsewhere which would in turn leave me open to being sued. I declined to sign it and was told that no one else had a problem with the contract.
I don't care if no one else had a problem with it - it was an unfair contract and treats the temp like an idiot.

Easily the worst recruitment agency by a mile, they will tell anyone gullible enough to sign up with them who is looking for permenant that "this is temporary but leading to permenant if they are happy with you," if it means you fill the role & thus for them their cut of your wage.

Decline any such offer, and their staff are rude and aggressive, even going so far as insinuating that they will let the Jobcentre know you turned down a job to try and get your dole stopped.

Recruitment agencies tend to unscrupulous at the best of times, but this lot are the worst of an evil breed.

Office Angels in Sutton Coldfield has to be one of the most rudest agencies I have ever spoken to ! If you told the staff you couldnt get the time off to make a date they suggested then they presumed you couldnt get time off for interviews she found for you, full stop ! One woman in particular was very rude to me considering that I am meant to be a client to them.
At the end of the day it is their job to help prospective clients, not to make them feel bad. She was helpful, but her tone was dreadful. Shes needs to go to a class in Anger Management.
