Recruitment Agencies in generalNewest Review: ... agencies in the last few months and hardly found any of them helpful. You may get excited a little when you find out they want a interview with you. The real truth is they want more people to register with them so they have a wider option of selecting the right person. I have found out they often love people with more experience and hate students. They always want you to answer your phone and be ready at any time to work for them. I did indeed work for a recruitment agency early this year and found the experience to be hard. You get paid a little higher than the average pay but are not treated right. Most of them will put you on... more |

Recruitment agencies insult qualified and experienced tradesmen by offering them £10.00 Gross! Having just applied for an agency construction job during a lull this summer I was appalled at the wage offered and also not fully explained or discussed I think the agency was pocketing more per hour than I was, talk about parasitic! The Government should be looking in to their underhand methods and making sure they are paying a proper and appropriate wage to their tradesmen. Never again will I use an agency.

The purpose of Recruitment Agencies is to help you find work but they are not exactly what people think they are. Recruitment agencies look for experience more and any one who is a student or who has never worked before should not even think about coming to one as they would not even bother considering you for any role at all. I have a law degree, but knowing there isn't much call for solicitors during the recession (and frankly being fed up of law) I came over looking for any job available to bring in some money. I signed up with 7 recruitment agencies when I came over. What shocked me was how differently they work here compared to Ireland. In Ireland you have to pay to be put on their books, but they do really really work hard to get you a job. Over here its free to get on the books, but unless you nag at them daily you never hear a word from them. I was lucky, 3 days after signing up ... Read the complete review

It seems to be the generally accepted route of getting a job. You register at a recruitment agency and then the rest is taken care of for you right?. Unfortunately this preconception is almost completely false. I have registered with almost 25 agency's and so therefore I feel in a good position to describe my own experiences. Despite having registered with this number of agency's my experiences are less than than positive. I recall the very first agency I registered with found me a temp job quite quickly, the work wasn't exactly taxing and the pay was terrible but I accepted this was something I had to go through to move on to bigger and better things. Well ... Read the complete review

Simply Media
Simply media is meant to be a recruitment agency for media jobs in london,
instead what you will find is very unprofessional people who will call you get you to come in, find out wher eyou worked, your bosses name (so they can call them and get more business) and then say to you hmmm not sure if we have anything even though your cv is good and they call you saying the opposite.
AVOID THEM AT ALL COST IF YOU WANT TO GET A REAL JOB!
good agencies for media is handle or jam (both in london)
