Advantages: 10% discount
Disadvantages: Working on bank holidays, Uniform, management, Expectations, pay...
This chapter of my life started the day I needed a part-time job.
I needed money for art supplies and travel to my college, so therefore got a job at ASDA.
At first it was ok, but for the measley £5.91 I get an hour, I feel underpaid and even recently undervalued.
I work very hard trying to please the managers, helping the customers with a big grin and am always thanked.
But no matter how far I go out of my way, or how hard I work the managers just say thanks but then go on about how its "expected" to go out of your way, break your back for a measley £5.91 an hour.
Which is about 1p per second!
Then when you think you are doing well and are making progress and get used to doing something, they add more things to do therefore making it much harder and then they say its not good enough when you run out of time and are unable to complete pathetic tasks like then annoying rollback flippy things uggggh!
The only benefits of working for ASDA is the 10% discount, some customers and fellow colleagues.
The managers get to look great with their ties and nice shirts,
What do we get? GREEN, and not a nice calm green! the green that hangoverd eyes do not wish to see, Its almost like we the people that actually do some hard work get the shitty uniform and the managers managers get the best!
Its just appaling, repulsive, reminds me of bile!
ITS VILE! I dread looking into the mirror and seeing my grass like attire.
I can't wait to leave this place!
The one place I despise, deteste and love to hate.
I May aswell take a shit there, the plus side is getting paid to do it!
In a nutshell, No matter how desperate you are to get a job.
Do not, I REPEATE! DO NOT Work here.
Summary: Do NOT go here for a job.

- 21/02/09 When I first started work I got £27 for a full 35 hour week. Almost £6 an hour would have been great. |

- 21/02/09 I take it you're too young to remember a time before minimum wage? £6 an hour to do an unskilled job is pretty good.
I know lots of people who work for supermarkets - the missus, brother, her brother and their mates - and I've never heard 1 complaint about the uniforms lol. Unfortunately for you they need to stand out from other brands hence the pea green. Could be worse, you could be dressed as a giant hamburger handing out leaflets :) |
