I am very surprised to read so many bad experiences of working as an Avon representative. I think that I should point out first and foremost that Avon is a self employment opportunity and not paid employment. A lot of reviews that I have read on this site regarding being an Avon representative are talking as though they think Avon owes them something. That is not the case, this is a freelance job opportunity where a person chooses to be self employed. As with any self employment it is up to the individual to seek out demand for the service they are offering. When you register as an Avon representative, all that basically means is that you go on a ... Read the complete review

I had recently moved into my brand new house in an undeveloped area when I heard a knock at the door. A lady asked if I was interested in becoming an Avon representative and I replied 'possibly'. With that she was in and half an hour later I was signing a contract. To be honest I am one of those people who find it hard to say no and then regret it later, but this time I am so glad that I didn't turn down this opportunity. I have a son who was about 7 months old at the time, had just moved, didn't have a car and knew no one close by. After a few weeks of living there I was tearing my hair out through boredom so when I was approached I thought I may as well give ... Read the complete review

Little did I know that I would be spending this summer as an Avon rep. I am not in the slightest cosmetically minded and have never really worn more than some nail polish and a bit of lip gloss. My grandmother was an Avon rep before I was born I was told but she lost patience for it after a few years and quit. My primary reason for joining Avon was because it was the only company/ job which would take me on in the current job climate. Though I do have to say I have earned fifty pounds worth of commission within my first two campaigns even considering the exclusion of admission, brochure and equipment costs. For anyone who didn't know and am sure this is just a ... Read the complete review

I started working as an Avon representative in September last year. I wouldn't say it was about the money, although making a bit extra is always appealing. It was for a bit of a hobby as well, as I didn't think it would make me rich. I looked up Avon's website www.avon.uk.com and found a contact number for them 0845 601 4040, phoned and said I was interested in becoming a rep and they sent an area manager to my house about 3 days later. She went through what Avon was about - affordable beauty products delivered to people basically, but i'm sure we've all heard of the Avon brand, so that sums it up really. She took me though talking who I would ... Read the complete review

Avon products is a large Company that sells Cosmetics, fragrances, jewellery, toys etc, by relying on agents, known as Avon Ladies. They're main aspect is that it allows the average normal person to purchase items from the comfort of their home with the aid of the Avon Lady to help guide them and also build up a rap-our between the company and the clients. They have now gone online which means that clients can now order from the comfort of their home without the aid of the traditional Avon Lady. I worked for Avon for approximately one year when I was still at school and was looking for some extra cash. A few of my friends had recommended them as they had ... Read the complete review
