Advantages: Can improve if serious measures are introduced.

Disadvantages: Move slow like the government, so rule it out.

At Hsbc employees have one credo, if there's anything wrong going on, keep your mouth shut, you never noticed it.

A couple of months ago in the UK's India call centre a guy detected major flaws in Hsbc systems. Instead of checking it out immediately, managers did not bother for two months. Reason: managers wanted the credit as it would result in promotions, the guy eventually left in disgust as action was taken against him indirectly on other grounds for not disclosing exact details.

Even after he informed the Assistant Vice President and VP nothing was done to undo. By the way the place is headed by an American lady, who's done absolutely nothing, she's busy learning Indian dances, and can't be disturbed so you've got to take appointments, you see they are very very busy (A secret: they play golf among other things in the office ..shhhh busy busy) .

Hsbc could have saved hundreds of millions of pounds, at this same centre a fraudster was caught having swiped about 200,000 pounds and they made lovely statements.

Hsbc top guys are busy massaging thier egos with that stiff upper lip and a supercilious smile, do Nothing concrete except draw huge salaries. How does Hsbc make money, by not letting off those customers who do, continuosly bombarding them with sales calls, so money rotates within.

This is the place you should work, well paying, no taking of responsibilty, just plastic & fake responsibility will do to gain brownie points.

Summary: No serious action as useless managers continue to rule.

Entirely believable, as I have come across a huge fraud committed by a small group led by a top operations manager for another bank. When informed they pressurised and got them to leave, no action taken as I guess they did not want to spoil their name.

This sort of hiding info rather than take action is what leads to fraudsters openly stealing data as (despatches-channel 4) as they know at most, they'll be asked to leave.

Besides managers in India still operate on the age old shopkeepers style and have not matured.
