Advantages: Great benefits, discounts and career progression.
Disadvantages: Nothing major.
I read the above review, slightly in shock. All the stories, all the tales, but I wonder how much of it is drama and fiction from previous employees look for abit of attention.
I work in one of HSBC's UK based customer contact centres, where I 'sell' loans and other lending products to customers from all different backrounds.
So firstly, the company on the whole. Its the 2nd largest bank in the world. Established in 1865. With offices in 72 different countries. The company offers great careers prospects, and provides there staff with training and qualification that they can use in any financial orientated work place.
I really enjoy my job, with hopes to progress through the ranks.
I would highly recommend HSBC over any other UK based banks, especially Barclays.
HSBC prides itself on customer service, therefore meaning we don’t miss sell or rip off our customers (even though the other review disputes this fact). We are strictly regulated by the FSA, therefore meaning if we miss sell and mislead there foots in our back.
I hope this review is helpful, and I would highly recommend HSBC to anyone looking to progress in the banking world.

When people access these reviews it is important to remember that they won't necessarily have seen the other reviews before reading yours (they might not even appear in the same order) so it's important to precis or similar (eg other reviews state that HSBC is a bad place to work but I disagree....). Perhaps you could let us know how easy it is to pass through the ranks. Is the training any good? and so on. These are all things that would be helpful to someone planning on a career with the bank.
