Have just been reviewed as a "good and willing hard worker" at nestle. I work for PMP there.
I should be pleased except that I am wondering how they know?
I havent received a shift from them in 3 months.
Possibly they are rating me on the six months prior to that but that still makes me wonder. if I am indeed a "good and willing hard worker" why thenam I only given 1 or possibly 2 shifts per week despite being asked for by at least two department heads? Especially when some others with rather less glowing reviews manage to get 5 shifts a week and training on not 1, not 2 but 3 different machines.
The answer is simple I'm afraid. Your face either fits or it doesn't. Over the years I have worked for 5 different "employment agencies". I am self employed and have used these agencies to supplement income when times are hard. Agencies are what they are and not ideal but are usually fair and equitable in their dealings with you but unfortunately PMP seems to go out of its way to make life harder for its employees.
In 10 months I have NEVER heard anyone say one positive thing about PMP. They have short paid people, witheld wages, failed to inform workers of training opportunities, treat workers with zero respect and if challenged have summarily dismissed that worker.
In my opinion PMP are without doubt the WORST agency in the business.
I first applied for this job because they was NONE other going, I went for my interview which wasn't really a interview you just had to fill out some paperwork with your name and stuff and then you had to do a maths english quiz which was really easy, **** count the stars? Etc. Which when you meet people that work there your amazed how many people actually passed the test because some people are just so dosey!!!
I came back the week after for a day course where they teach you and you do a test, These are for certificates in health and safety and food hygeiene which they say you cannot work there unless you have these, even though they let loads of people start without one?!
We was never allowed to choose what we wanted to do or which factory we wanted to work in even though a group of people that started after us was, which i think was really unfair. We was led into our factorys and put in a place and no one ever told you what to do or how to do something you just had to do it!
You only know if your working on the actuall day, sometimes they even cancel you after you'v arrived at work.
You get spoken to and treat like dirt by nestle and also the people in the PMP office if your one of the unlucky ones, because they have there "faves" and in my opinion they are very racist.
Your deffo not treat fairly, you get made to do all the work while nestle lot just stand about, They turn the machines on really fast if its just PMP and slow if its nestle workers.
Have you ever seen friends where joey works with ross and there all split up by blue coats white coats?! thats exactly what it is like there!! You don't get the benefits/bonuses/Xmas hampers etc like nestle do and you ALSO don't get there pay..
Pmp on average..
Day Shift - £6.10
Night - £6.60
Truckers - £8.60
Machines - £7.60
Supervisors - £8.80
You get an between and hour and hour and half for your breaks which is normally split between half hour then 2 20 minutes threw the night, Every shift your supervisor rates you 1-4 4 been the highest, when added together with everything else this is your overall score and your score determines if your going to get called in often or not, These are totally wrong (back to the racist bit) There is a group of asians that work in the factory which are deffinatly the best workers there and they are all scoring an average of 2, where other people that can't even pack boxes are on 4, getting in everyday and having the opertunity to be trained on machines etc.
You can only get a job at nestle through PMP recruitment now a days.
The best thing about working here is that you get 2 week off at xmas garanteed and i think its one week at easter.
I never worked for these so im not going to blabber on! LOL!
The majority of nestle staff are lazy, dont care, rude, bitchy, moody and there attitude in general stinks! its mainly the woman, you can have a laugh with most the men!
There on a decent wage 22.000+ bonuses etc.
Good hours and holidays, extra shifts, always garanteed a shift!
I'm not sure but i have been told that they go to fancey balls and stuff like this.
Overall for working at nestle for PMP id say 6/10 because it could be worse and if given the right circumstances the night does go quite quickly.
Also i just want to add that at nestle they are very strict on cleanliness and hygiene! =)
