Advantages: Plenty of work, quick and prompt pay

Disadvantages: Poor pay, daunting reports

Retail Eyes is primarily a mystery shopping company. I have now worked for them for over a year and would like to share my views with you.

The good: There is plenty of work available as well as a wide variety of work. This ranges from restaurants, fast food, phone call inquiries, fitness clubs, hotel stays, retail stores and lots and lots more. They pay very promptly, one of the very few mystery shopping companies out there that actually have 2 pay cycles a month. The staff members are very polite and are always happy to help when you give them a call with queries.

The bad: The actual pay for the work you do is poor. The majority of the jobs pay below average to what other companies pay for similar jobs. The reports that need to be completed at the end of the visit are a bit of a drag. The questions can get very repetitive and comments are requested where nothing much can be said. The email customer service is quite poor. Often emails do not get responded to for weeks.

Overall, not a bad company to work for. Ultimately, it depends on what you are in it for. If you are desperate for the money, it can be a nice little earner but if you are doing this to have fun and make a bit of cash on the side, try a better paying company.

Summary: Pretty good company to work for!

I am not sure how much experience you have with mystery shopping, but I only spend evenings and weekends doing this and I have a very healthy profit to date. I suppose it all comes down to who you work for and the quality of reports you are able to provide.

I really don't believe that mystery shopping falls within what could be considered the minimum wage.
