Just thought I'd be the first to write about Safeway in the world of work and to give those who shop at Safeway a chance to see the other side of it all. *****UPDATED REVIEW***** Well, I figure I'd better come back and tell you a little bit more about working in Safeway especially since they're just given me a pay rise! :) As a part time front end cashier I earn £4.70 per hour and I am on a 9 hour contract. safeway - Advantages: plastic boxes and help-yourself to a nice selection of food, good quality products, excellent layout - Disadvantages: poor service, morrisons bags

As nobody else has written an opinion on here yet, I feel it is my duty as a Safeway employee to do so! The main problem with the Safeway that I work in (apart from the fact that as a part time worker still being at school I get quite evil shifts sometimes) is that with it being a Safeway in a small town, it is the main employer. So it means that half the population of the town works in Safeway or is related to someone who works in Safeway. Also, half the store are related.... It gets pretty confusing and if you end up on the bad side of your boss, chances are you end up on the bad side of someone else too due to these family ties.
