“ Brand: Emjoi / Type: Epilator „
Hair removal to me means it is time consuming, some type of skin irritation at some point, damn that hair grows back fast, really can not be bothered but need to do it, feel ugly. Facial hair in particular has always been a problem for me before I use to use Superdrug's sensitive hair removal cream over 10 years, but at times it would irritate my skin and it really was not that good at removing most of the hair, so I was on a look out for something that would be effective and would not irritate my skin. I had threading done before and it worked out well but my nearest threading lady would be a bit far out to get to just to remove facial hair and for the price of travelling there and back and getting the threading done it would be an expensive and time consuming way to get it done on a month basis. I have dark facial hair against fair skin, I feel like I'm turning into a guy when my moustache and sideburns start to appear, it is weird how you become so conscious of your appearance, before high school I never really cared.
While my mum was watching the QVC channel I came across this device to remove hair and is suitable for touching up hair removal on parts of the body and can be used on the face. Watching the demonstration for the Emjoi Tweeze, I started to quickly jot down the order number and its details, and at a lower price of £13 (this was when I purchased it two years ago) I ran to my computer and found the website to quickly order it. It came a few days later in a big box, honestly all that packaging for a small device, was there really any need, they could have just posted it in a small jiffy bag. What I got was the Emjoi Tweeze, a little brush, 2 AAA batteries, and the instruction booklet.
The appearance of the Emjoi Tweeze appears as what can only be described as a battery operated mini epilator. It is in a white colour with the brand mentioned on it. It has an on and off button which you slide up and down, there is only one speed, you then have a set of three tweezers which go round this one wheel giving the effect of single tweezers. Yes it is noisy like an epilator but I think the motor in this is somewhat less noisy compared to it. You have a plastic clear cap over the tweezers, but to me it's not needed, if anything it gets in the way when you are trying to tweeze hair away and you only have to keep removing it to clean it properly. At the back there is a compartment for the 2 batteries. I love Pound Land for batteries I get a large pack of AAA batteries for a £1, which costs less to maintain my facial hair removal. Battery life depends on how long you run it for, I know that the first few times I was actually scared to use this near my face with that noise and the plucking so I probably wasted it. I find I probably change it every 2 months. It is most effective when its motor is fast and as the batteries dies you struggle. It is great for travel as it is portable and small enough to put in a make up bag or handbag even. Its dimensions are 5'' x 1'' x 1.4''
This takes some time getting use to using. At first I found it painful to remove hair from my upper lip and slight sideburns. After a while you become use to it and I use it as soon as I have few visible hairs popping up to reduce the pain as it hurts more when its over grown. You CAN NOT use this to shape your eyebrows but you can use them to remove hair in between them. You can also use this on other parts of the body maybe to remove that random hair. Some people have used it on ear lobes but I really do not like the idea of the buzzing sound near my ears for long, in fear it might turn me slightly deaf. My skin is not irritated by this, it feels clear and smooth on my upper lip. Like an epilator it pulls the hair out by the root, re-growth for me begins a few days after so I like to grab the hairs then rather than wait over a week for it to have grown fully back to normal. It is fast and efficient at removing hair, only take about 5 minutes, easy to fit in to a daily routine or every few days. Like an epilator just sweep it up and down in the direction the hair is growing and the tweeze will remove it. To clean just use the brush to removes the hairs.
Overall I'm glad I purchase this, it has saved me from the constant skin irritations and I feel happy I found a much better way to remove facial hair.
I bought this product about 2 months ago because I hated waxing. When I first saw this on tv I thought to myself, this isn't going to work, but I bought it anyways. I got it home and put the batteries in it and tried it on my upper hand first. It was very painless. I was so amazed and it had my hand very smooth. So I tried between my eyebrows next because I didnt just want to go to my lip because I am very sensitive there. It was still very painless and very easy to use. All you have to do is turn it on and guide it in small circles in the area you want the hair removed and its gone. Well I next put it on my lip thinking this is gonna hurt but once again it didnt. I have four tattoos and they hurt worse than this did. I was very happy that I bought this because now I do not have to go through the pain and hassel of waxing any longer. When you do use this you only have to do it about every 6 to 8 weeks which is wonderful when you have children and a busy life like I do. I know that if you get this product you will love it.
