“ Brand: JML / Type: Wax „
I actually bought this one week on my lunch break when I knew I would be working too much that week to make it to my eyebrow waxing appointment. Watching the advert, seeing how easy it was, I decided I was going to do it there and then in the bathroom on my lunch hour! It's that easy, it's compact, something you can carry around with you, and give yourself a tidy up when you have a few minutes to spare. It's all there, at your own convince.
You get your free battery with it, and a few other nifty little tools. Initially I was scared by the rather loud, intimidating sound the small little wand produced so decided to test it on my arm before I accidently shaved off my eyebrows. And I was amazed at how easily it worked, it glided through the hair with ease and I quickly set to work on my eyebrows.
I was slightly disappointed with this function, not only did the head of the wand with the blade on it keep falling off during use, I also found that after my waxing alternative I was left with a fair amount of dark stubble where I had used the trimmer, hairs so short they were unpluckable for the first few days.
Not put off, I then used it in a couple of other places, including that part of your ankle you always seem to miss when you're shaving. It worked perfectly, leaving me with a smooth finish like a traditional razor.
Obviously it's not as long lasting as waxing, but it's a fantastic alternative for those who can't always find the time to attend appointments. It's compact, easy to use on the go and effective. I do think it would possibly work better on lighter haired women, having dark hair obviously causing the stubble on my eyebrows to be more noticeable.
This is a simple alternative to waxing and creams.
Having tried both in the past and finding them either painful or just not effective I thought I'd try this.
It works for trimming facial hair, trimming eyebrows and any other small patches of hair, for example hairy toes which no one likes to admit too but they happen!
It comes with a neat little pouch, which is handy for keeping the little fiddly accessories (the cleaning brush and eyebrow trimmer attachment) safe, it even comes with a battery which is a rarity these days.
It is easy to use, pain free and effective. Results are not as long lasting as waxing but it's so easy to use you can do a bit every day if need be, and I found I'd tend to put off waxing due to laziness and the general unpleasantness of it! As it also leaves no tell tale red marks on your skin you can trim and go, unlike waxing which I'd have to leave a few hours for it to calm down before I'd go out.
The eyebrow trimmer is OK, you slip on the little plastic attachment, which has two lengths, it advises you to use the longer one first. I ended up with the shorter one and it did trim the stragglier hairs neatly, which I don't usually bother with but it has neatened up my brows subtly but noticeably, I also used the wand without the guard to shape the odd stray hair I couldn't be bothered to pluck. It is not a replacement for tweezing/waxing or threading eyebrows, the wand is not small enough to offer the fine detail needed for eyebrow shaping but it will do for quick touch up for for larger areas such as between the brows.
However for upper lip or chin hair it is perfect, it is also good for odd little areas such as toes and the top of feet which are often missed during the usual leg waxing/shaving routine but which can be nuisance. It is also good for touching up any missed spots on legs etc.
All in all this is a good little gadget, it's not perfect and will not replace all your beauty routines, especially eyebrow wise, but it works well, quickly and the £20 or so investment is worth it once you factor in the cost of waxing the upper lip etc. Plus you don't need to leave the hairs to grow long enough for the wax which is excellent if you have a hot date or something in that awkward between waxes stage! It is also perfect for quick touch ups when you don't have time for anything else, especially on those awkward areas such as backs of legs where, if you are shaving or waxing yourself, there is usually a missed bit!
