Unfortunately for me I have always had a problem with hair on my body. Me and hair just do not get along unless its on my head (I'm sure it's the same for a lot more women). I have really dark thick hair and I regularly suffer from ingrown hairs, which do not look pretty! So quite naturally I'm always on the look out for hair removal products.
Shaving, waxing and hair removal cream are not my friend. I can't shave everyday because of the ingrown hairs waxing is pointless as the hair grows back to quickly (suppose to last around 6 weeks more like 2 days) and the same with the cream, I could go on!
One day watching the tv I came across the American advert for No! No! Hair removal. Honestly, the advert completely put me off. It wasn't till a few months later when I seem it on groupon (for a whole lot cheaper) that I actually read up on it and decided to give it a go.
I couldn't wait for it to arrive and when it finally came I was straight on it! It came in a white box with a picture of the No! No! in front. Inside the box was of course the No! No! The power supply - this is American but you do get a British adaptor with purchase. The buffer, hot blades for short and long hair. A cleaning brush for the No! No! Instructions manual and training DVD. And finally a little bag to store gadget and bits and bobs. As I got it from groupon I got extra hot blades.
Let me explain a little about the technology behind it all. On the DVD it explains that they use Thermicon Technology. The heat from the wire on the hot blade transmits on to the hair follicle and down to the root, where it should disrupt hair growth. The heat also helps to remove the hair. It does say that you have to use No! No! for at least a month before you can start seeing a difference with your hair, as you have to treat the hair in a certain stage of hair growth.
So I'm already to go, I even let my hairs grow especially. I read the manual, then I watch the DVD as it says to do. This was a waste o time it told me everything I had already read. Great for people that learn visually and hearing what to do though. The No! No! which came in pink (you can also get it in black) is very small for the box it comes in. You can see the LED light when you look inside and where you place the hot blades.
I placed the hot blade for long hair in and of I went. When No! No!-ing you have to keep the No! No! at a 90 degree angle from the skin and have to keep a steady pace. The No! No! helps you with this, a green light stays on when your doing it right. If not the green light flickers. So, you do the section with the hot blade and buffer the area going in round circular motions. This helps to remove some burnt hair and make it smooth. After, repeat with the hot blade for short hair. This is used for stubble mainly. I personally found the No! No! very simple to use. It does say in the manual to practice in areas like your legs or arms before you move to more sensitive areas like your underarms. But it doesn't take that long to master.
So I've done all this, gave No! No! a quick clean and I feel my legs. Im expecting to feel silky smooth legs, but what is it I feel? Hair! Of course a lot of hair has gone, but there is still a lot there! Every time I No! No! I have to shower afterwards to shave my legs to get rid of the excess. However if you have finer hair I think this would be less of an issue. I did read somewhere. That after being used quite a few times the finish will get smoother. Well it's been a little over three months now and it's the same.
I don't only shower to shave though. When you No! No! it leaves a smell of burnt hair and it can linger, so I find it best to shower after a No! No! treatment. That's a good thing about the this treatment you font have to wait 8-12 hours to use certain things like with waxing.
Also after using the No! No! Be aware of the hot blades as these can get very, well, hot! The hot blade can break or just stop working but you can buy replacements. There said to have around 6 hours of life, but I use mine 3-4 times a week and I'm still waiting for this to happen. It is recommended that you use No! No! around 3 times a week.
To be honest I don't rate the No! No! that much and think its been a bit of money wasted. I was expecting a little more, I kept on going but in still waiting for things to happen. I'm still going to carry on and hopefully I will preserver. The whole process take just as long as shaving so the time is not really a problem. Using the No! No! doesn't hurt either, the first few times I felt a little heat sensation but that was all. Though this may be different on more sensitive skin.
I am hoping that with more time and commitment my legs will start getting better with the No! No! I think if you have quite fair hair this product may be more for you. You can pick the No! No! up for around £140.
