I brought the lady shaver off GroupOn about two weeks ago, hoping to avoid constantly shaving to keep my legs in tact. When the product came I was very scared about trying it for the first time and had to practise on my less eager partner, who assured me the pain was bearable but not comfortable. When starting with the lady shaver I found myself giggling like a little school girl from the bearable pain. However i started to get a rash on my legs, as my skin wasn't used to this kind of hair pulling technique my eye brows were accustom to. This product is definitely worth a buy, it is cheap yet works a treat on those stubbly pins. If you can get past the pain (which I can only compare it to having a tattoo) then you've bagged yourself a good one, as the hairs take longer to grow back. So grit your teeth ladies and give it a go.
I brought my very own lady shaver a couple of weeks ago online and I couldn't wait for it to come in the post. My main purpose for trying it out was because it was discounted on groupon, and being a student saving pennys are ALWAYS good! On arrival of the package I couldn't wait to test it out, ripping it straight from the packaging and whipping out my winter seasonal legs. The instructions are very simple and easy to follow, making it more comfortable when using a new product. However, the pain is not something to experience daily. The little gadget quickly pulls out the hairs from the roots, meaning that after the pain you have smooth legs for about a week, depending on how quickly your hair grows back. It is very safe to use as it doesn't cut or scratch the surface of your skin. A rash appeared on the first use, but after lathering cream on my legs and using the product more often my skin has toughened up and now no more rash! Definitely worth giving a try if your a woman who hates shaving your legs, but loves the smooth feel!
I have always used disposable razors but over the last few months they have become more and more expensive. My friend recommended I try an electrical shaver as they are much better value and give a better and closer shave. I didn;t want to spend too much on one and used my Amazon vouchers I have saved up and purchased the Phillips battery lady shave wet and dry razor for £15. The razor is pink and white and takes 2 batteries which I have used for the last 3 months and they still have power in them. You can use it wet and dry which is down to personal preference but I prefer to use it wet. I have tried it dry once but it just didn't feel as smooth and it did pull my skin slightly when shaving. It is really easy and quick to use although it isn't fantastic for really short hairs so I would recommend leaving a few days between shaving. I haven't used this razor for underarms as I use hair removal cream. I shave my underarms much more often than my legs and because it doesn't really work on very short hairs it is pointless using it for underarms. I don't know if all electrical razors are the same but I would have thought a much more expensive one would do a better job. I only need to use this for my legs and for the price of £15 I think it was good money for value rather than buying disposable razors every other week. I have gave 4 stars as it doesn't work for short hairs but for the price I'm not complaining!
I had this as a gift for last Christmas from my husband as with two young children a shower is a quick rinse and out so I thought this would be a good option for keeping my leg hair in check!! These are currently selling for £15.49 on Amazon and Boots. The lady shave is light weight and reasonably small. The colour of it gives a very feminine look its white with 2 stripes of pink down either side. This lady shave is incredibly good to use from the design shape and weight it allows you to angle and manoeuvre as needed. You can shave both legs in less than 5 minutes. This is a cordless shaver so requires batteries but only 2 x AA, I find I have to replace the batteries every 4-5 months as I hate when they start to run out as the shaver starts pulling and hair instead of cutting. I do like this shaver and find it very handy as time is precisions but I don't find it as good as a wet razor shave. You can however use this in the shower as its water tight but still doesn't cut as close. I would recommend this shaver if you are short of time and need to have a quick shave, but for me it doesn't replace the old fashioned razors.
=Philips HP6341 Battery Ladyshave Wet and Dry Single Foil= I always find that if I use a disposable razor on my legs that I cut myself, so after a week of little cuts on leg covered with plasters and wearing trousers, as my last ladyshave broke, I brought this from Boots. about 12 months ago and I about £20 for it. =Colour= There is no mistaking this for a gents razor, as it is a light pink and white in colour. =Batteries= The razor takes 2 batteries, lasting power does depend on how much you use it and the quality of batteries, a pack of 10 from a pound shop are not going to last as long as 2 Duracell batteries. But on average I find that easily I get 6 months from the batteries. =Wet and Dry= The razor can be used wet or dry, although I have wet shaved my legs, I prefer the dry shave, but that is personal preference for me. =To Use= The shaver is very easy to use, it takes a minute to shave my legs, and 10 seconds under the arms, although I do find that if it does not always pick up the really short hairs under arm, so if I am on holiday or the summer, then I will top up with a disposable. It has quite a lightweight feel to the razor, it has a good contour to the body and is easy to hold, it moves well, there is no dragging on the skin and I have to say touch wood, I have had no nicks from this. =Noise= It is not a loud noise but it does have a buzz to it, the first time I heard the buzz I was pulling the razor apart as I thought that the foil head and cutter hadn't been put on properly, but no it has an annoying buzz. If you are in the bathroom and someone is waiting outside then I know the buzz can be heard, as I asked, but quickly explained it was the razor buzzing. The shaver is very quick and easy to use. You can shave your legs within a couple of minutes. The shaver is very light which means that it is nice and easy to move around. I also like the comfortably shaped handle as it is easy to grip, and again makes shaving easier. =Brush= Included in the pack comes one of those little small brushes, the ones that you always try to keep safe then after a few uses it disappears never to be seen. This brish is actually really good, better than some brushes I have used with previous razors. So I now sellotape the brush to the bottom of the razor. =Skin= I found this did not dry out my skin after using the razor, I did find that my legs felt slightly smoother when I have used the razor in the shower, but whether that was because of the shower gel, I don't really know, so can't credit it to the razor. On a dry shave my skin felt smooth as while. =Would I recommend= I would recommend this razor, it is from a really good brand, a good price, and does overall give a good shave. =4/5 stars= The only reason I have knocked one star off is that is doesn't quite get to all the short hairs, but bar that its great.
I bought this shaver from Boots a couple of years ago at a price of around £20. It is currently selling from Amazon for a price of around £15 which I think is good value for money. This shaver is very attractive. It consists of a lovely light pink and white colour. I love how girlie it looks. The shaver is very quick and easy to use. You can shave your legs within a couple of minutes. The shaver is very light which means that it is nice and easy to move around. I also like the comfortably shaped handle as it is easy to grip, and again makes shaving easier. Whilst the shaver isn't very noisy, it is noisy-ish and makes a 'buzzing' vibrating noise. I wouldn't recommend using this shaver in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping as it is quite noisy. The shaver required two batteries. The batteries tend to last me a couple of months which I think is good and so I would therefore say that the shaver is quite 'cheap to run'. I have found that when the batteries have run out (I'm hopeless when it comes to things like replacing batteries), if I leave the shaver for a couple of weeks, it is as though the batteries have recharged themselves and I can use the shaver again. The shaver comes with a little brush so that you can easy 'clean' the shaver. I have lost this brush in the past (and found it) and whilst I didn't have it, I tried using other little brushes to try and brush the hair out of the shaver and they wouldn't work as well as this little brush. So this brush is definitely very useful to clean the shaver, otherwise if you don't the shaver isn't as effective. I have had a couple of 'nicks' on odd occasions when using this shaver. I was quite surprised when this happened, although I think it may have been due to a long hair getting stuck in the shaver and so it 'yanks it out'. It may also have been because I was holding the shaver to close to the skin. After shaving, my legs are quite smooth, however at times they can feel dry. One thing about this shaver is the fact that you can use it is as a dry or wet shaver. I tend to use it as a dry shave but find that it sometimes 'scratches' my skin. My legs feel smooth afterwards though. I have found that the shave isn't that great at picking up small hairs (for example if you shave everyday) and so it is best used for 'long hairs' e.g for when you only shave every other day. All in all I would definitely recommend this shaver to all ladies. Thanks for reading! April 2012 Xdonzx / xd-o-n-z-x
