It's not painful at least...
Member Name: ladyradley
Advantages: Not painful
Disadvantages: expensive, poor, doesn't work properly
I always use electronic razors for shaving, on the odd time that I have used the manual ones I have found they have been more irritable to my skin so stick to what I know best. When I decided my old razor was on it's last legs I asked my husband to buy me a replacement and he came back with this.
When my husband bought me this I was a bit unsure as to whether I would like it as it is an epilator and not an actual shaver. I don't think he was aware that there was a difference but I thought I would give it a go and seeing as it cost him a massive £120 at the time i thought it must be very good quality for that price tag!
I am, however, very disappointed with it. My usual electric shavers are half the price of this but 100% more efficient!
What is good about this piece of equipment is that it is cordless so you don't have to mess around with sitting close to a plug socket or having a cord in your way. It also comes with an exfoliating glove and a little pouch to keep it in which is quite nice.
It is not very comfortable to hold, I think it is quite wide and so it doesn't fit nicely in your hand which is obviously an issue considering it is a hand-held device! It has two speeds although I don't really think it is vital to have two, somewhere between the two would have been ideal really.
When I used this I found that it was awkward to use, it has a specially shaped head which I'm sure is scientifically designed for some fancy reason but actually it doesn't glide over your skin as a result and it doesn't quite get to some areas. It wasn't at all painful which I was pleased about because I had heard that epilating can be painful but this was fine. It was, however, very time consuming! I found that it didn't remove the hair very well at all, I had to keep going over the same area again and again and pressing on as hard as I could.
At the end of it my legs did not feel silky smooth and it definitely was not at all as good as a normal razor so I was extremely disappointed. I didn't like the fact that it took three times as long and didn't even have as good an effect! It didn't keep the hair away for long either, it was time to shave again much faster than normal so it definitely didn't work properly.
I have given this to my daughter now, she says she isn't pleased with it either. You would think for such a price tag that you were getting something special. They should spend less time adding extras like a fancy pouch and glove and instead actually work on this machine's ability to do it's job! Not impressive but at least it was pain-free!
Summary: waste of money
