Penis Pasta
by stufflover
I go to a lot of Ann Summers parties that my friends have, and at most of these there are prizes for games or raffles, and one of the prizes I have bought home from a game was the Penis Pasta!
This is basically what it sounds like, pasta that is made into small penis shapes. They come in a plastic bag, which is inside a box, ... made out of a thin cardboard. The picture on the box is a bowl of the penis pasta, cooked and served with sauce and some vegetables or herbs.
I found it to be quite a giggle, as I like pasta anyways, so this was more than likely going to get eaten at some point. I do not eat pasta very often, as it is quite high in calories for a small portion size, and there is a lot of carbs in it too. I took it home from the party, and my partner looked a bit confused as to why I had it and declared he would not be eating any of this!
I put the penis pasta in my cupboard, ready to be cooked and eaten another day. Now there has been many a time in my life that I have eaten pasta, and many times I have had to cook pasta, as I am sure many other people on here have. I read the cooking instructions on the box, and they are pretty much the same as any other pasta in the world. Pour some of the dry pasta into a pan of boiling water, and cook for 20 mins.
I did this, and when it was cooked, I served up the pasta with a sauce and some salad. I was hoping that the pasta would taste just like normal pasta, despite being shaped like penis's, and thankfully it did. It has the exact same taste and consitency as normal pasta, it is just a novelty to look and laugh at whilst you eat. I did find that this pasta was not as filling as normal pastas, and due to the lack of actual pasta in the shapes, I am not really surprised at this.
Basically, there is not much to this other than it is pasta, shaped like a penis. If you like pasta, then this will be fine for you. You can buy this pasta at Ann Summers parties and Ann Summers stores in the UK. It will cost you £4 a bag, and you can also buy it on their website. I find that £4 is actually quite expensive, especially compared to the price I usually pay for my pasta.
I still have some of this penis pasta left, as it is not usually my first option for food when I have other styles of pasta in the house. I found that it was nothing special, and when it runs out I do not think I will be rushing out to get some. It may be a good idea for a novelty gift for someone, or as part of a snack or meal for a hen party, but I do not think it will end up being part of my usual food shopping!
I give this pasta a 3 out of 5, but nothing special and I only partially recommend it. Read the complete review |

18 Inch Hen Night Party Balloon
by katykicker
So after having to organise my own hen night recently I ended up on the hennighthq website ordering a few different products and getting them despatched the same day. I was very pleased with lots of my purchases and at how reasonable the prices were. One of the items that I purchased was this helium 'hen night party' balloon which I ... wanted in the corner of my living room just behind where all the food was to be placed out for those people that were coming to my house first. I actually didn't think about whether this balloon was going to be inflated or not and despite it saying 'Simply add helium for a fun addition to your hen party for the bride-to-be.' on the website I just did not register the fact that this balloon was not going to be delivered blown up, I guess I was caught up in the excitement of it all and the last minute rush of having to organise it all myself!
This balloon arrived, you've guessed it, flat packed, in a little plastic wrapper. The balloon was nice and neatly folded and all I had to do was take it down to my local florist who was happy to blow it up for me for just £1.50 and this included a pretty pink ribbon and a weight on the end! I was quite happy with this as the actual balloon was only £2.99 with free delivery making it a very reasonable purchase indeed.
The balloon opened out nicely once it was inflated and a simple tab at the bottom was knotted to ensure the helium did not escape. It was very easy for the florist to attach the string and the weight to keep it from floating away and overall it was very simple and cheap to get it filled up and it only took a matter of seconds.
The balloon itself is a very pretty shade of pink, more of a candy pink, with this lettering that I think looks a little bit like Mexican style writing, if that makes sense? The letters are all well spelt out and I got several comments while carrying this down the road from the flower shop back to my house. There is also what appears to be the silhouette of a lady dancing flamenco style, it's a little strange to be honest! I wanted a hen night balloon and this is what was on offer to me. I did quite like the style of the balloon once it was inflated and it looked quite nice bobbing away in the corner throughout the night. The balloon is very sturdy and despite being knocked around lots by people, the cat and the wind from the open door it did not burst or leak at all. This balloon has been up for a couple of weeks now and it's stayed upright with minimal loss of helium. This balloon has begun to deflate a little now but nothing that I wouldn't expect from a helium balloon after this length of time. Read the complete review |

Hen Night Cutlery Pack For 8 Table Settings
by katykicker
Recently I was involved in the throwing of a hen party, my own. The night started in the afternoon really with some of the my family gathering at my home, there was lots of party food, nibbles and drinks to get the mood started and the stomachs lined before the trek up to the local clubs and bars. Obviously with some of the hens ... attending my house and a distinct lack of maid of honour (lets not go there!) it's fair to say that I was left with some fairly last minute arrangements to carry out and didn't really have anyone local to come shopping with me in the short time before my hen. I ended up doing a large selection of my shopping online, on hennighthq.co.uk so I could get the items delivered and not have to worry about picking them up in time as well as going to work every day, also delivery was free with no minimum spend which is always fantastic.
This plastic cutlery, 8 sets in vivid pink, comes provided with a plastic bag. You can just rip the top off the bag and then after a quick rinse the cutlery is ready to set out and use however you choose. I just left mine on the table and let the girls help themselves as it wasn't a sit down meal or anything formal like that.
Within this pack there are 8 spoons, 8 forks and 8 knifes all in a vivid pink colour. I love the colour and it was what made me purchase it, also, there were matching items available on the website such as the tablecloths and other bits and bobs so I could give the evening a coordinated feel without spending a fortune! Each packet of cutlery was only £2.49 with the price decreasing slightly depending on the quantity purchased. The spoons are teaspoon size, or similar, and they were ideal for scooping up dips and pasta salads to keep everything a little bit more hygienic. The knifes were serrated and were quite good for cutting up little sausage rolls and things like. The forks had a fairly pointed edge meaning they did actually stab in to your food rather than just pushing it around your plate.
Overall I must say that this cutlery was a lot better than I was expecting. The colour was my sole purpose for buying and the fact that I was just going to be binning afterwards, however, after giving this a wash I've placed it inside a sandwich bag and I'm going to keep it for when we go out for picnics and snack lunches in the summer as it's easy enough to just throw away if it gets damaged and I don't have to worry about using my good cutlery while out and potentially losing a piece of the set. The cutlery set is probably more aimed towards adults as it may be a tiny bit too sharp around the edges for young children but as long as you supervised them I see no reason why they couldn't use this. I was very pleased with how sturdy the plastic was and nobody had the embarrassment of having their cutlery break while eating their meal. Also, most of the food got eaten so that must be a good sign that the cutlery was working well. If you are looking for something to jazz up a gathering of girls then why not give these a try? I was very pleased with the £2.49 price tag and the free delivery was fab as I could just order the quantity I wanted and even ordered another packet when some extra people confirmed they were coming.
