Ann Summers Sizzling Body Candy
Advantages: Amusing and entertaining
Disadvantages: I would be hard pressed to describe the effect as erotic
I do love a little fun in the bedroom! Earlier this year, I purchased an adult version of connect 4, where you could line up any combination of activities, and the person to get four in a row would win . One of the counters I particularly liked was the 'Lick With Edibles' one, which I would play on every conceivable occasion .
However, I soon realised that actually finding suitable edibles after winning the game doesn't work . It just results in scrounging around the kitchen looking for anything that might spread. It was after getting into an incredibly messy situation with a pot of Marmite ( which ended up with one very sticky cat regretting its curiosity! ) that my boyfriend and I decided we should perhaps have a look for some suitable items to keep to handy.
With Ann Summers being on my way to work, I had a look in one day, and came out with quite a collection of edibles, including Sizzling Body Candy, which retails at £3 for 2 x 16g sachets, in a strawberry flavour.
The company claim that if you sprinkle these on your body, they will start t0 'fizz spectacularly' begging to be licked or sucked off . Opening the sachet was easy, there is a small indentation where you can tear the packet open, and you can simply shake out of the packet onto your skin . The candy crystals are actually quite larger, and are surprisingly bright and glossy in appearance. They almost look like shining jewels!
So, about this spectacular fizzing. Well, I popped a little onto my stomach - and it just sat there, doing absolutely nothing . Ditto for the bit I popped onto my boobs. Now, anybody who has ever eaten popping candy knows that it doesn't pop in your hand, only once it gets into your mouth and comes into contact with moisture, so it probably isn't so surprising that it really didn't do anything just sitting on those areas . However, when my boyfriend licked it off, he did report a nice, if overly sweet strawberry flavour and a jumping sensation in his mouth.
Having a little lick of this off of my boyfriends chest, I can confirm that this is a relatively pleasant tasting thing, although I have to say I do not actually think the popping element really does anything to add to the eroticism of the moment . In fact, I would go so far as to say that the popping is a little off putting, and encourages giggles rather than sensuality.
However, knowing that is is moisture that makes these fizz, I had one more experiment in mind - and this is where the more prudish amongst you may choose to look away. Deciding that it was actually rather annoying and loud having this popping in my mouth, I did think of one naturally moist area where the popping sensation might be quite pleasant, and where I wouldn't be able to hear it - my lady garden .
A generous sprinkling produced a very very mild stimulating effect as the crystals started to fizz. I don't know if the sensation was pleasant exactly, but it was quite strange!
Overall, I think this is fun to try, but it would be much more economical to buy popping candy from the corner shop, as apart from a darker colour and a glossier appearance, I don't really know that this is any different.
3 stars - mildly entertaining if not particularly sensual, and hugely overpriced for what it is .
Summary: Worth a try perhaps
