I recently purchased one of these on Amazon for £2.75 including delivery. These sashes vary in price and colour. I saw white, purple, black, red and the pink which I chose for 2 reasons. Firstly, it's girly and would stand out as it's winter and many of us were wearing dark clothing and secondly, the writing on the other sashes didn't seem to stand out as much as the dark pink writing did on the light pink sash.
The sash is a pale pink satin material with darker pink writing which says 'Bride To Be'. There are little L.E.D lights dotted around the letters to flash.
When the items I had ordered were delivered from Amazon I left them all in their packaging to keep them neat and tidy and put them in a suitcase so wheel on the train to London (there was a lot of stuff for 14 people).
When the hen night arrived I handed out the sashes and we put this one on the bride to be. The end of the sash holds a little battery like a watch battery encased in plastic with a switch to turn on your flashing lights. First we had to peel some plastic wrapping off the switch and when we switched the light on......nothing!
Really disappointed, I could have got the sash anywhere but ordered online as I especially wanted a flashing one in this colour. I now regret not testing it myself as soon as it was delivered instead of being disappointed on the night.
Flashing lights aside....the sash still looked good and there wasn't much we could do about it.
The next problem was the length of the sash, it was constantly falling down and ending up either around her waist or on the floor. There was little we could do about it at the time but for the evening we used a hair grip to tighten the end of it which seemed to solve the problem. It isn't really a negative that the sash was so long, this means it would be suitable for all shapes and sizes but it's just something to remember if you're buying one. If the bride to be isn't that big you will need some kind of pin or grip to tighten the end of it.
Overall the sash looked good, we all had the same sashes minus flashing lights and they were comfortable to wear as they were fabric, some others I have worn in the past have been more like paper than a soft fabric and they can be uncomfortable especially if you're wearing something with small or no straps.
The lack of flashing lights was all forgotten about within a couple of sips of wine so we didn't mind but if you really want your bride to be to be a flasher make sure you test the lights!
Miss Universe isn't the only one that gets to wear a sash. On your hen night, you're miss of your universe, so wear your Bride To Be sash with pride! Resplendent with 6 flashing lights!
