I recently went to a hen party for one of my friends who, quite obviously, was soon to get married. She had her best friend arrange everything to make sure we had an awesome night and one of the many things that were sorted for us hens to use, was a set of badges. These were in a bag marked as "Hen Night Attitude Badges" and they were a selection of pink and white badges with different words for us to wear.
The words on the badges were: Lucky, Too Hot, Vamp, Sexy, Bad Girl, Flirt, Frisky and Wild. As there was a load of us, we had two bags of these, and some of us had the same badge as some of the others, not that this was much of a problem lol. The badges are not very big, probably about the same size as most pin badges you get these days. The text on the badges are written in a cool font, and on the white backed badges, the words are written in pink and black. On the pink backed badges the writing is in pink and black font.
The badges did up with a metal bar clasp, just like the badges I remember from when I was a kid, and they were easy enough to do up. The metal pin itself was quite thin, so it hardly made a hole on the top I popped it on. It stayed in place nicely, even after I got very drunk and bumped into anything and everything around me. None of us hens managed to lose a badge, and in fact some of us woke up the next morning still wearing one!
The badges are quite cute, and they did get a few comments and questions during the night. I ended up wearing Lucky, and many a bloke asked me as to why I was lucky. There was also a few blokes who drunkenly asked if I wanted to get Lucky (ewww lol)
Personally, I am not sure as to where these badges came from, but I am sure you could get them in places like Claires, Anne Summers, and in party stores like Birthdays and Party Land. I think they make a good addition to a hen party night out, and I recommend that if you are to be having a hen party soon, add these to your outfits, why not add some fun?
I give these badges a 5 out of 5, as they are cute, colourful, eye catching and durable. What more do you need out of a pin badge?
I had two hen do's one was a few days at a health spa and for other friends who didn't want to splash out or have the cash, a night at an all singing all dancing musical and a meal out was the other option. When I had my hen night the one thing I didn't want was too many tacky horrid things stuck to me on our meal out as I am a bit shy. However my friends had a different idea but to give them credit they were a bit restraint as they knew my mum would be there so the amounts of Willy items were at the minimum thank goodness.
This set of badges was probably the least offensive items to other diners in the restaurant and was certainty an item my mother felt comfortable pining to her outfit for the drinks and meal section of the night.
This is an eight badge set so if your hen night is going to be larger than this you will need several sets. We had a couple of sets for my hen do. The names on the badges are either pink with white and black writing on or white with pink and black writing on them. They are called attitude badges because rather than being called Miss Whiplash or something similar these are supposed to be traits that the person has. The characteristic written on the badges are Wild, Lucky, Sexy, Vamp, Frisky, Too Hot, Flirt and Bad Girl.
These are well made and are robust too the touch. They have a plastic wipe clean finish too the front and have a metal back with a metal badge pin clasp too them. We found these went on well and stay on the whole night without falling off at all. They did leave a pin hole in your clothes but this did seem to disappear with mine and my mum's clothes at least in the wash once the fabric on the clothes had come together again as it were. They were still in tact the next day so if you are having a few hen do's in a ruin they could be reused for each event if you so choose. I placed mine in a memory box of things for my wedding and hen do.
Now if you are all very comfortable with one another I am sure you can allocate the names on the badges out appropriately. However on my hen do there were different groups of people including work colleagues relatives and friends some of who had never met one another before so what we did was to put them all into a gift bag and then it was lucky dip to see who got what. We also had a no trading rule to make it a bit more fun, so I have to admit it was a bit weird to see my mum wearing a frisky badge!
Now if you are brave or alcohol fuelled I am sure you can set up dares and forfeit to do with the names on the badges such as flirt needs to chat some one up or similar. However I have to admit we just wore ours and had a giggle as we put them on and then thought no more about them.
In regards to their erotic abilities I don't really think they have one really or maybe I am just naive. As the dictionary defines erotic as arousing or satisfyingly a sexual desire I am not sure these badges are capable of commanding such a response. I personally don't think if you wear a badge with flirt on you are suddenly going to become a sex goddess that every man is going to find irresistible if only it were that simple Brad Pitt and I would have been dating by now. I also suspect it will not make your partner suddenly see you in a new, interesting and sexy way that perhaps a new outfit or some sexy lingerie will. However as a bit of fun for a hen night out they do fit the bill very well especially if you're like me and a bit shy and do not want to look over the top with hen do items.
I would definitely recommend these badges for a bit of fun on a hen do especially if you make picking them out a bit a fun too. They are very appropriate for hen do's I think where you have some older members of your family attending who could be offend by some of the other "Over the top" hen do items on sale. They are well made and stay on all evening if you want them too and can be reused for other events as they last well.
I am not sure where my friends bought these but you can find them on the following link for £2.99 for the set
