Gaggia Evolution ... good thing about this machine is its ease of use. Quick too, 6 mins to heat up which is good. The machine seems to be fairly durable to have a mostly plastic body. It does require some expertise to get a perfect shot. (Pods make it a little easier). It does produce fabulous shots and will last you a long long time if you care for it. It does require tinkering with the amount of coffee and setup but that s expected of any semi-automatic machines. The machine warms up quickly so I can get a quick shot right before I leave for work. Magimix 11154 ROBOT CAFÉ ... Magimix Robot cafe is a good quality machine that makes great expresso coffee. The main asset is the milk frothing system for very tastey late and cappacino. Beans are loaded in the top, has a lower level marker. The water tray is a little on the small side so if you drink alot of coffee or this is for a large number of people then you will be filling it several times a day. There are several warning lights which flash to tell you when something needs filling or emptying, this is sometimes anoying because you dont know exactly which so you have to check all options. Philips Senseo ... bought my machine a few years ago as I have always had the habit of not wanting to get up in the morning then not having time to boil the kettle etc. The machine uses coffee pods, you can buy both the Douwe Egbert s ones or the generic shops own. Once it has heated the amount of water needed at the touch of a button the coffee is made by passing the hot water through the coffee pod. Whilst it has a fairly large water tank it only heats the water it needs to hence it can save energy.
