Advantages: With practice, makes some of the nicest coffee I have tried
Disadvantages: Requires some ongoing maintenance
I've had my Gaggia baby espresso machine for about a year now and couldn't be without it!
The Gaggia baby is called the baby, not because of its size, but because it was the first home espresso machine to be created by Gaggia. it certainly packs a punch in the technical department and the "Baby" name doesn't really do it justice. For instance, the Gaggia baby has the same size portafilter that you would find on the commercial variants. It also includes the same sort of pump and shower screen.
I find that I need to switch the machine on about 20 minutes before I am ready to make my coffee. The machine needs some maintenance too, so please don't consider buying if you are not willing to put the time in, to keep it in good condition, because you will only be disappointed. This machine needs regular descaling, otherwise it will just give up on you.
I have spent time researching on the internet, the best way to utilise the machine and I feel this has helped me to make some fantastic coffee, which after a little practice, tastes better and is cheaper than the high street outlets!
Overall, a fantastic gadget that I use on a daily basis for a taste of the best continental coffee.
Summary: The only way I can get to morning lectures on time!
