This is not the best espresso machine you can buy, but it certainly gives you good value for money. Sometimes the prospect of having a professional espresso in minutes is the only thing that helps me wake up in the morning! And the smell... I cannot even begin to describe it!
The machine heats up quickly, and makes the coffee even faster. I used to show off to my friends by making two coffees at once, but I guess that's old news now! Still convenient though! But the main reason I chose this product, is that it can be used either with ground coffee or with coffee pods. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the quality and the convenience of a capsule, but sometimes it takes all the fun out of it! So, buy this machine and go crazy, pick your favorite coffee beans and enjoy the flavor of a freshly grounded coffee; nothing can compare with that!
On the downside, compared to other Espresso machines, this one lacks in style, all my friends found it too bulky. But, it's all about the coffee, right?
Also, bear in mind: you'll have to clean it, and it's not so easy. It takes me about 20 minutes every week, there are all these bits and pieces that need washing and drying!
Overall, it's a solid, trustworthy product, nothing too fancy, but will give you a good quality espresso (and more!)
In the past I have had coffee perculators and another espresso machine and this is by far the best. Either one or two espresso cups can be used, and they get filled up very quickly so great when entertaining. It also has a milk frother for that professional latte, and when in 'brew' mode, the milk frother can also be used for instant hot water.
It has a large water tank at the back so doesn't have to be filled up constantly and the machines heats up in hardly no time at all, making it ready for use. The tray at the front where the cups are placed can be removed for easy cleaning as this is a store for excess coffee spilt. And on top of the machine there is a slight hollow where espresso cups can be stored. I use this mainly for display in the kitchen so it looks a bit prettier.
The machine itself is really heavy so doesn't move about, and it has non slip feet underneath which is good for glossy kitchen sides. The black outer shell makes it look classy, but also not too clinical. And unlike stainless steel, it is really easy to keep clean as it has a matte finish, so no fingerprints.
Set up of the machine does look quite complicated and I think the instructions could be a bit clearer, but once set up it is easy enough to use. Not many draw backs really apart from there isn't a lot of space between the coffee storer and the tray, so espresso cups are needed. A mug definitely wouldn't fit under if you just wanted an Americano. And the coffee storer can be a bit stiff to start with for the first few uses, when changing over the used coffee to new.
Overall though I have been really pleased with this product and I do think it is worth the money, if you are into your coffee. Better value for money than the pod machines too, as any ground coffee can be used, rather than having to pay for the expensive pods.
An excellent product, much cheaper to run than the Nespresso machines.I was really surprised at how quick and easy it was to make a coffee on this machine, I can actually get my coffee quicker than I could on my filter coffee machine. I was worried about the cleaning process after reading some of the reviews here but I also found that quick and painless.
