I bought one of these machines about four years ago. It makes fantastic coffee, no question. So much so that when my partner and I seperated, she bought one for herself. However, it has an inherent fault that you will find out about if you google around for a while. After 2 years, both machines came up with a "ventilate" fault. I understand that this is a common problem caused by a valve fault. I rang Gaggia, only to be told that Phillips were now maintaining their machines. After several calls, I was told that they would collect the machine from my house and take a look at it for £125!!!! Any major work would attract further costs. Wot a joke. We binned both machines and vowed to never buy from Gaggia ever again. Please research before you buy.
Before purchasing this espresso maker, I had yet to hear of the brand Gaggia, not being certain if this was a brand of high quality, though understanding that it had to be considering the rather high cost of this product, myself spending 510.99 for this machine, however finding its quality all in all extremely appealing! From the modern and nearly futuristic design metal body to the coffee that ever so lovely ends up in your espresso cups, the Gaggia Titanium is a product you buy when wanting the best of the best.
If you are new to the art of making good espresso, I would recommend buying a machine such as this one... The main reason being the fact that this espresso maker from Gaggia is very easy to use and understand, the buttons at the front of the machine easily and without fuzz informs you how to step by step make your own coffee, and when those steps are done, the machine does the rest of the job itself, leaving you with coffee that always has a very fresh and warm flavor to it, of course depending upon the brand and bean of the coffee you`re using... With a water capacity of over 2 liters, you can make quite a bit of coffee in one go, and the power holding 1250 watts, the making of the coffee is somewhat fast, at least in comparison to other brands, the entire prosess of making coffee with this machine varying from about 4-7 minutes. Now comes the prosess of washing the machine, which luckily is a problem free, fast prosess, as I use a wet towel to clean the exterior of the machine after every use, and run boiling water through it quite often, however there`s also products you can purchase for the use of running them through espresso machines.
The design of the espresso machine from Gaggia is very modern and stylish, however for some it might come across as a bit big and taking up counter place, this depends of course upon the size of your kitchen... I have no complaints to utter when it comes to this machine, I love the coffee, love the product!
a great machine for any coffee lover to have, get coffee as good as (or better than) any coffee shop chain at the press of a button. Great as you can set different size coffees plus then froth you milk to make a latte or cappuchino!
If you use good coffee beans and look after this machine it will serve you well prodcuing great coffee, it also lasts for a long time. It is very simple to use you just put water and coffee beans into the correct compartments and press a button for coffee; the nozzle that the coffee comes out of is also adjustable for different sized cups with is handy and the tray stops any spills or mess.
The only negative is that the steamer can be difficult to use, if you don't get the balance of the steam right or dont hold the cup of milk correctly you can splash hot milk everywhere or end up with milk simply mixed with hot water which is never nice.
Cleaning it can also be difficult as you have to take it completely apart and this can be quite fiddly. The tray underneath and the bin for the old coffee grounds need to be cleaned the most as both can fill up failry quickly if you use the machine alot.
Overall a great product, as long as you know how to use it.
The offices machine, can one ask for more! It's great to come in to the office, and use this machine first thing in the morning.
The Aesthetics - Quality speaks for it self, and this is top notch. Beautiful to look at although somewhat out of place in the office. We have about 10 different machines scattered around! But this is by far one of my favourites!
The Usability - Piece of cake, or that's what accompanies my coffee! It's so easy, and quick! The buttons on the front make it a charm to use!
The Quality - Superiority comes to mind. A beautiful build, which despite the 200 or so coffees made a day, it looks brand spanking new! The coffee however - is what you put in you get out!
The Reliability - I've never been without a coffee, and it's still the original machine.
The Summary - A coffee lovers dream! Combine with the finest of coffee and become a connoisseur
yummy! theres nothing like waking up in the mornig to the sweet smell of expresso. this is hands down one of the greatest expresso makers ever!. but is a little bit over priced. but its worth every penny to wake up in the morning and sip this faboulas expresso with a fresh cresant.
a little large so good if you have a large kitchen! the titanium exterior is gorgeous. but it di get dirty easily. the design is not to complex just a few buttons and youve got expresso. the removable water tank is very handy when filling and the tank is large so you dont have to fill it often unless your like me and drink 10 cups a day. : D
Overall i would recommend this expresso maker for anyone who need s a simple machine that will get the job done. also when buying this item think about how it will fit in to your kitchen because it can often be to large for some counters.
