I bought one of these a few weeks ago, being fed up with instant designer coffees which never achieve the taste you get from proper coffee shop machines. As an aficionado of espresso, ristretto and the occasional macchiato,I thought long and hard and did a fair amount of research before deciding on this model which was on offer from Lakeland.
I have not been disappointed.
The machine looks cool and makes great coffee from Nespresso pods, a sample of all of the various flavours being supplied with the initial pack.
There are 16 different styles and flavours of coffee available and each one is a different experience.
This is backed up by the literature supplied from Nespresso which goes into some detail about the different characters of the coffees available.
I have now narrowed down my own preferences to around 6 of these, and have since joined the Nespresso club, which is the main source of the pods and also of regular information about club services, coffees and various sundries like cups glasses pod holders and even biscotti.
Pods work out at around 30 pence each and delivery is free for orders of 200 or more, which sounds a lot but I get through these at a fair rate.
The Citiz comes with an Aerocino frother for milk, which is adequate but no more than that. It suits me since I like a small amount of milk sometimes with my coffee and it makes a modest amount of warm milk and froth.
However if you like a lot of hot milk and froth as in a Cappucino this may not meet your needs.
The machine is easy to operate and clean, and the after sales service from Nespresso is superb.
