It is such a shame about this coffee maker, as it is great for the price, but despite that you really shouldn't buy it. I will explain, but basically the bottom line is this model has been discintinued as it has a design fault, so unfortunately, for the sake of one little problem, it really isn't worth it. Despite it seeming value for money, it is still a lot to spend when not every single feature works.
When we first bought it, we used it all the time. Everything about it is easy to use; set up of the machine, brewing coffee, changing the used coffee to new, cleaning the machine. Since using a different coffee machine now, brewing was a little slow, but did the job all the same.
The problem we had was the milk frother. This was fine for the first couple of months, but then broke entirely. There is a pipe from the machine to steam the milk with an attachment on the end. The attachment has three little arms at the top which connects to the pipe for steaming and then release in order to clean it. The design flaw is that the three little arms can't hold for very long. After a couple of months usage, I was steaming milk one day, and the attachment flew off into the milk spraying hot milk everywhere, and the pipe blowing out steam. Needless to say I ended up with some minor scoulds on my hands. I thought it was maybe a one off but everytime I tried it since, it happened again. When I looked closely, one of the arms had snapped. I wondered at first if I had done something wrong, but as it was still under the warranty I phoned the shop. I bought it from home & cook, and they were great. I took it back into store and they were not surprised to see it. I was told it was a design flaw, the machine had been discontinued, and seeing as there was nothing else for the price, they had no problem refunding the money.
