Having owned one or two coffee machines in my time I have to say the Magimix Citiz Milk is fantastic!!
If I'm being totally honest our lifestyle leaves us little time to be messing round with complicated and longwinded pieces of equipment in order to make a simple cup of coffee so when this machine was recommended to us (mainly due to ease of use) we bought it primarily for this reason and it is certainly far surpassed any of our expectations not only in usability but the quality too!
When the machine arrived it was a few simple steps before we were enjoying our first cup of real coffee and what a darn good cup of coffee too! I have to say I never realised how awful instant coffee really is until this lol.
The main thing I love about this machine is the separate milk bit. My husband particularly enjoys a latte whereas I (forever watching my figure lol) have it with just a drop of milk, so for hubby, he simply pops his milk into the milk frother and pours it nice & hot into his coffee whilst I will make my coffee and add a little cold milk afterwards.
Back to the ease of use issue, as with previous machines we have had, they got little use simply because it proved so much hassle making a coffee then all the cleaning afterwards. With the Nespresso, it's simples. You fill the water tank with fresh water, switch the machine on and wait for it to heat which incidentally is very quick, then pop your coffee pod into the top. If your having milk in the frother you put that in and switch it on to do it's bit. Meanwhile select your cup size from large or small and press! When the milk is ready you add it to it and voila, you have a perfect cup of coffee!
Cleaning is a synch as I just rinse the milk pot and leave the machine till the end of the day then just empty the water tank, empty the water tray and discard the used coffee pods. Every week I'll give it a more thorough clean.
This machine gets used daily and trying all the different coffees is brilliant! I can honestly not recommend the nespresso's highly enough. All in all a superb machine that delivers a superb cup of coffee and is a total pleasure to use!
If your in the market for a new coffee machine, buy it, you won't be disappointed
The Magimix Nespresso M190 is an ideal tool for all the coffee addicts out there. The performance is outstanding and works like a charm. This machine will satisfy all your coffee needs. Definitely a product worth buying. Price is reasonable and reflects the standard in which the machine works at.
The fully automatic Magimix M190 CitiZ & Milk Nespresso machine promises delicious mess-free espresso, but does the addition of a unique milk heater and frother finally mean proper cappuccinos for all?
Using the Nespresso coffee pod system the Magimix, unlike so many coffee makers on the market, is a mercifully simple. Fill with water, choose your coffee flavour (16 in the basic range), pop the foil pod in the slot, pull down the lever and choose large or small espresso and that’s it - no coffee grounds to spill, handles to pull, pressure to set or mess to clear up.
Measuring 27.7 x 23.7 x 37.2cm the M190 isn’t much bigger than a kettle, so it won’t swamp your worktop but has a solid weight to it and looks built to last, which is just as well, as £180 is too steep for something that ends up in the back of the drawer after a month.
You can customise the size of your coffee which is a useful extra, especially if you want a longer Americano style drink rather than a full on espresso shot. But that’s about it for clever features: a multi-tasker this isn’t, but if you’re after a no hassle quality coffee this is going to be hard to beat.
The standout feature for us though is the milk frother. Unlike the steam-spewing third degree burn issuing metal arms on most machines it effortlessly heats and froths milk in less than 30 seconds. You just pour a little milk in the stainless steel jug and push the button - a small whisk and hidden heating element takes care of the rest.
Coffee snobs will scoff at the lack of steam, and if we’re being picky the milk could have done with being a touch hotter, but the results are delicious and as close to a restaurant quality cappuccino we’ve ever managed at home.
What's mercifully simple to use, that doesn't result in coffee beans spilling, that doesn't need the pressure to be set or numerous handles to be pulled? This beautiful coffee machine.
Like the Nespresso system, with Magimix, all you need to do is fill with water, choose your coffee flavour, slip the foil pod into the slot, pull down the lever and choose large or small espresso. That's it. It's a great size, which could potentially replace a weighty kettle, and looks like a sleek addition to any kitchen. I've found that it's pretty sturdy, and after 5 and a half month's use every single day, up to a dozen times a day (our friends love to try this), it looks like how it did when it was new.
The milk frother is an excellent feature which won't result in you getting second or third degree burns - a small whisk and hidden heating element takes care of the milk you pour into the stainless steel jug provided, and it's heated up in roughly 30 seconds. I'll admit that the milk isn't as hot as it could be, but it nevertheless produces some amazing quality coffee you have in shops like Costa, and there's not much steam produced either (important for me because I have burned myself with it on a number of occasions).
Although I think buying it on offer at £95 was a bargain, the biggest con definitely has to be the price of the Nespresso pods which can cost 20 - 25p. In a nutshell, it is an expensive habit to keep up. We have had to order it in multiples batches of 50 (the only option), and being frequent users of this machine, it's quickly become apparent that ground coffee is cheaper. Once a day is okay, but three times a day for coffee fanatics, or regular family use means you'll be spending money on your habit very quickly. You'll also have to join the Nespresso club and order online.
I LOVE this coffee machine! It genuinely makes me happy each day when I get my perfect frothy cup of coffee. I look forward to it as a real treat.
I bought this a year ago and I can honestly say that I still think it's fantastic and I have not had a coffee machine before that I have still really loved using after that time. I have tried a few really excellent quality machines but they have all been quite a lot of hassle dealing with ground coffee and cleaning the machine, so I decided to try a capsule machine.
A friend had this machine and I always enjoyed her coffee so thought I would try it. I was a bit concerned that it was a little bit pricy as you can only order the capsules directly from Nespresso. you can buy cheaper fake versions of the capsules but why bother when the taste is so good with the originals and the cost is only about 30p per cup which is really good when you are essentially getting a coffee shop cup of coffee.
The milk frother is amazing. It can also do just warm, non frothy milk and cold frothy milk. The capsules come in a variety of flavours including some specialities like chocolate mint or vanilla. They also do decaf, but their main coffees are fantastic. I especially like the lungo coffees which are more like cappuccinos than espressos.
The helpline where you order the coffees is also great and you can recycle the capsules. The orders comes really quickly.
The machines needs very little maintenance and the few parts that need washing can be done every so often with ease. the milk frother needs washing after each use.
I genuinely think this is the best coffee maker around and all my friends love coming round to mine for coffee as its so tasty!!
We bought the Magimix Nespresso machine in January, after looking at lots of different brands and models. The sleek, retro-style appearance and vast array of coffee options steered us towards this one, and we haven't been disappointed. The cream and chrome design fits perfectly with our colour scheme (although other colour options are available). I drink decaffeinated coffee, but also like my coffee strong, and the newest of the decaff options, Decaffeinato Intenso is one of the best I have tasted. The information booklet included with the machine is really useful, and the different strength options mean everyone can have the coffee they prefer. We use this machine every day.
The machine is really easy to use and clean, and the Aerocccino makes lovely frothy milk in a couple of minutes.
We're fortunate to live in a city with a Nespresso Boutique (well worth a visit if you have the chance, as you get the opportunity to try the different coffees), but I've also ordered online and received my package within a few days.
Overall, looks good, tastes good, and, unlike other appliances we've bought in the past, will never be pushed into a cupboard and forgotten about!
I bought the Nespresso Magimix for my husband's birthday in January. For him, because he is a coffee lover, for me because it looks pretty on my countertop. I have to say we were not disappointed on either front. I opted for the black and chrome model, it was smaller than I expect, but this was a plus, as it fits neatly between the hob and the microwave and doesn't take up essential counter space. It came with a selection of coffee pods (16 I think) and a guide to all the different flavours (this is really nicely presented as a spiral bound booklet). It also came with an 80 euro voucher for pods from the Nespresso site. The machine itself is very straight forward. The Aerochino makes enough frothy milk for 2 small cappuccinos, but heats really quickly so there is not much delay if you are making several cups at once. The selection of coffee is really good and includes 2 different decaf options. I've never had decaf which tasted like real coffee before, but these tasted so good I had to double check. The only drawback is the availability of the pods. Where I live, you need to order online or drive to the nearest city to stock up. With the online service we waited nearly 2 weeks for delivery, but this may just be a one off issue. All in all, a really nice dainty coffee maker which makes really good coffee quickly.
Coffee is one thing i never compromise upon and these days i am very much addicted to the coffee made by my Magimix Nespresso citiZ M190 that any other coffee doesn't appear so tasty to me. So this is the best thing about this coffee maker. The taste is too good. Everything is automatic. You just have to specify how many cups or what quantity is require and the coffee will be ready in no time. It is so helpful that i don't have to worry about what to give to my guests and trust me they all love my coffee(my machine's coffee ;)) It is also environmental friendly compared to other coffee makers (so i don't have to worry about drinking it) I am one forgetful person and leave my machines running sometimes. This machine comes handy to me as it switches off its power after 30 mins so if you are someone like me, don't worry, the machine will take care(so less power) .Also the coffee is always hot (thanks to the machine) .One drawback is that it does't look so stylish. So if the model minds a lot to you, then you might have to think before purchasing it.
This is a great coffee machine which is easy to use, produces high quality cups of coffee and looks good on your work surface without being overly cumbersome. It takes about 20-30 seconds to get warmed up when you first turn it on and then it is good to go. The coffee is served hot but not scalding and you can set the level of liquid you want it to dispense for an espresso and a lungo measure, meaning you can tailor it to your particular coffee cups which is quite nice. Another pleasing feature is the ease with which the machine can be cleaned and emptied.
Unfortunately after a few months of use the incorporated crema device stopped working and we had to buy a separate one. If I was buying again I would still go with the magimix but opt for the smaller and cheaper model without the integral milk frother.
The machine costs around £199 (as per the Nespresso website at September 2013) and the capsules that go in the machine work out to around 30p each, depending on the variety - online ordering is easy but has to be done in multiples of 50, or you can buy in Nespresso stores or Selfridges. The machine is available in black or white - I have the white model which is really more of a cream colour and looks really nice - the white part has a shiny finish to it which sets the design off nicely.
We treated ourselves to one of these machines at Christmas with a degree of trepidation. Earlier forays into the world of the coffee-maker have usually ended with disappointment at the sheer inconvenience of the procedure. But not in this case.
The Magimix Nespresso machine is in daily use and, even if you're not keen on drinking coffee, the aroma as it operates is almost worth the price alone! It looks very smart on the worktop. Ours is black but other colours are available to match your colour schemes. The chrome finish looks smart and is easy to keep sparking clean with the occasional wipe.
Nespresso has a bewildering array of coffee flavours and strengths available - colour coded capsules will help you to remember what's what- all you have to do is make your selection, snap one of the little capsules into the top of the machine and press one of the two buttons (one for a longer cup, another for a smaller espresso type. If you're having a smaller cup, there's a little stand you can flip down to hold an espresso cup, which might save some splashing.
Meanwhile the milk warmer is whirring away heating up and frothing the whitener to your taste. It comes with two "whizzers" - one to really froth up the milk for your capuccino, the other to just give it a gentle whisk. The choice is yours.
Stronger, longer, normal or decaf - the choice is yours. One reservation might be that the coffee doesn't come out piping hot. You can improve the situation by warming the cup and a friend suggested filling the reservoir with warm (not too hot) water beforehand. It's fast enough to enable you to make individual cups of coffee at dinner parties and then everyone can have their coffee to their own particular taste.
It has been said that the machine is rather noisy but you could alleviate this by placing it on a cork mat or similar. I personally find that the sound of the Nespresso machine at work draws people into the kitchen from far and wide. You do need to be a little careful when washing up the milk heater. It is an electrical appliance so of course you can't immerse it in water to clean it. On the plus side, the inside is Teflon coated so the milk doesn't stick to it too badly at all.
Keeping the whole thing clean is simple and, as long as you remember to empty the used pod container from time to time it's a breeze. A quick rinse of the container and inner drip tray is all that's needed and there's a catch tray to take care of any drips under the cup stand.
I know of at least two guests who have been so impressed with our Magimix Nespresso machine that they have gone out and bought one for themselves. This is definitely a good thing as we are assured of decent coffee when we visit them now.
