Crowned Review Philips Senseo: Sensational Senseo (1272 words)

The Philips Senseo coffee machine is a stylish, easy-to-use coffee making machine designed and made by Philips and Douwe Egberts. It promises "freshly brewed coffee at the touch of a button" which isn't strictly true but is much simpler to use than most other coffee machines I've seen. We paid £49.99 12 months ago from Argos. ~~ The Machine Itself ~~ The actual machine is made from tough plastic and has a robust feel to it. It comes in three different colours - blue, white or black. It features a "twin" spout which means that you can, in theory, pour 2 cups of coffee at once. It ...  Read the complete review

I love coffee. I own a lovely coffee maker that makes filter coffee. Over the weekend, we can make several pots of coffee and find that it's not enough for us. We also go through jars and jars of instant coffee (we buy Nescafe's, Taster's Choice). When my sister-in-law realized this and wanted to buy us a 25th wedding anniversary present, she decided that it was time we got a "real" coffee machine. That is why she bought us a Senseo coffee/tea maker by Philips, and we love it. Here is why. First of all, this is as simple as can be to use. You simply fill it up with water reserve (if it isn't already full), and press the on button. When the light ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Philips Senseo: A COMMON SENSE(O) COFFEE MACHINE (1366 words)

If there is anyone alive who enjoys a nice cup of strong, hot, flavoursome, fragrant coffee more than I do, I'd love to meet them. Unfortunately my java addiction - running to several cups a day - would cost a small fortune should I go down the convenient route of getting my fix from Starbucks or Costa coffee. Clearly something had to be done to manage my coffee consumption for fear of bankrupting me on a sea of cappuccino. I needed a way of recreating that 'just ground' taste without needing to take out a second mortgage. I knew there were a good few coffee filter machines about - indeed I'd owned a few myself - but the process of buying filter papers and ground coffee ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review You know it makes Senseo. (1136 words)

When I recently received a phone call stating that I'd won a prize in a raffle I'd entered, I was fairly excited. When I found out that I'd won a coffee machine, I was a bit disappointed. (We already have a coffee maker that we rarely use, due to the effort of getting it out the cupboard, setting it up and cleaning it afterwards !). What I wasn't expecting, however, was the "Phillips Senseo" - the most up to date coffee machine available. The Senseo hit the shelves in the beginning of July, and is a joint product between electronic manufacturers Phillips and Douwe Egberts, who produce coffee. Their aim is to provide great tasting coffee in a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Philips Senseo: Makes a top notch brew (1312 words)

I am a lover of proper coffee I don't really like freeze dried although if forced (dying of thirst and there is nothing else) I will drink it. However my wife decided she was going to get me a present that I would really appreciate for my last birthday, she is quite clever at things like that. How she came upon the idea of one of these I shall never know, but what a great idea it was. The principle of these machines is very simple, the coffee comes in pods, (like tea bags) so it works more or less exactly like your run of the mill percolator, in principle that is. The great thing going for it in my humble opinion is mainly that you don't have to constantly ...  Read the complete review
