Advantages: Easy, quick coffee and easy, quick to clean

Disadvantages: Um er, I'll get back to you

Philips Senseo Coffee for me. I have used many coffee machines over the years, they generally last about a year and I have been very unhappy with most until I bought my first Sensea (blue) about 3 or 4 years ago and have used it several times a day every day.

The Senseo machine did leak water sometimes (not often) but it was worth putting up with because the coffee is so quick and easy with a great taste. In November 2005 I thought the machine was getting noisier and maybe had its day. I couldn't be without my regular coffee so in anticipation of its demise I purchased another, this one was black @ £44.99.

My blue one actually died a couple of weeks ago, thats 17 months after I bought the black one which was unused and still in its box.

The new black one was so much quieter than the blue one and it does not leak. It seems faster too.

I put the water in and by the time I've put the pods in and put my mug on the drip tray the water is ready, press the 2 cup button and by the time I've got the milk from the fridge the coffee is poured. So quick.

I love the Senseo Dark Roast Crema Coffee in a mug so I use two pods and the 2 cup button which fills my mug leaving just enough room for a dash of milk (or Tia Maria).

Cleaning couldn't be easier, you just lift the drip trays & pod holder and rinse them under the tap.

The pods are now available from Supermarkets but I find them rather expensive so I buy in bulk and never run out of coffee.

Recently I have noticed there is a mug size pod available.

I love my Senseo.

Summary: Coffee made & served in less time than it takes to boil the kettle.

Good review. I'm looking for a new machine, and have been a bit suspicious of the 'pods' thing, but your experience seems a positive one so I'll take another look.

Welcome to Dooyoo! A great first review which covers everything, perfect for the new buyer. If you do update your review try and include some general pricing for the actual pods.
