Advantages: Coffe in an instant with hardly anything to do!

Disadvantages: The machine is bulky

If you are into making coffee quickly then a Philips senseo machine is for you!
But its not an espresso machine so its not for you if you require this!

Philips teamed up with Douwe Egberts to bring you great tasting coffee that take very little effort and time to make.

First off you will need to buy a Senseo machine, which range in price and are available in 4 different colours/styles. Black, white, blue and stainless steel. The latter being the most expensive of the lot followed by the white, as it's harder to find.

The machine is very simple to use and looks very modern and fits in almost anywhere.

The actual machine is very cleverly designed and works extremely well.
First off fill the water reservoir on the back enough dependant on how many cups you want to make or up to the fill line. This then easily slots back into place.
Next you flip open the top and add either one or two, again dependant on how strong you like coffee or if you have two cups to make, coffee pods into the metal tray. Then you close the lid turn on the unit by pressing the large button on the base. After you have done this you select either one or two cups by pressing the relevant button, also situated on the base. Once pressed the unit will start to heat up the water and within a minute or so your coffee will be almost ready. Once the light goes off you place one or two cups under the spout, of which there are two, and press the one or two cup button. And your coffee is served.
Add sugar/milk and your done.
The coffee is served hot but you can drink it straight away which is great because ei hate having to wait 5 minutes for drinks to cool somewhat.

Cleaning the Senseo,

Well first off the metal plate that you place your cups on lifts off for cleaning and underneath is a small well to catch any drips, which is also easy to clean.
Next you open the top (the same way you would to add coffee pods) and pull out the metal tray, which is extremely simple to do. After this the black spout can also be pulled out for cleaning. That's all there is to it, so once dry pop it all back in and your ready to start again. Simple and easy.

So for those of you wanting a coffee making machine the Senseo really should be on your list of choices, its easy to use, simple top clean and looks great. SO why not treat yourself to a good tasting coffee, especially as Douwe Egberts have released a good few number of flavours specifically for it! But be warned this is not an espresso machine!!

I have used these for many years and they have never caused me any problems. Always great tasting coffee and 100% reliable! Top marks for a great addition to anyone's kitchen!

Summary: A great way to make coffee quick!
