Advantages: Quick and Easy to clean
Disadvantages: The cup of coffee it makes is quite small compared to most
I am a lover of all things coffee related and am always grabbing espressos as a pick me up throughout the day. I thought to myself, instead of spending so much money buying espressos in various coffee shops, I may as well buy my own espresso machine and save both time and money in the while.
So I picked this up from Amazon for just over Euro65!! (Around £50) Quite pricey, but for the amount I was spending on espressos and coffees in a month, some might say a bargain. I later priced the same machine in both Argos and Woodies and discovered I did indeed get a bargain. It looked great in the picture on amazon and I needed a coffee machine, not badly, but enough to make me stop and think for a second while browsing. I wouldn't have paid this amount in a store as I'm sure if I shopped around I would have gotten a much cheaper one, but there you go, a complete sucker for online shopping, everything only a click away....!
I got my one in the standard black version but it does come in a variety, much more of which are availble in stores as amazon only had the choice of red, black and blue. I figured black is fairly neutral and would match my own kitchen rather than the red which is very vibrant.
Never having used any type of coffee machine myself before, I thought I was in for some tricky DIY and hours poring over an instruction manual in order to get it up and running!! It looked so complicated at first with all the different functions and buttons. Boy was I surprised. You literally just fill up the little pod that comes with it, with normal filter coffee (any variation can be used, which is great!!), insert it into the back of the machine, and hey presto your done. It really is as simple as that!! There aren't many buttons
I love the fact that the machine is quite small. This may look like a disadvantage but you can pretty much stick it anywhere and it doesnt take up much room!! It is easy to assemble, dis assemble and clean too, which actually isn't needed very often, depending on how much you use of course. The pod holder, pouring spout, perforated tray and tank are all easy to clean and are safe in the dishwasher, making life easier again.
The water tank (which is removable) can hold up to around 6 mugs of water at a time, in and around 750 ml and when it is running low a light will flash and let you know. It is easily refillable then from the tap or bottled water if you swig that way. The coffee itself takes very little time to make. You press the button on the front (it is very clear) and the coffee is made in under a minute! Great value for money!!!
It makes a standard mug with a fab layer of foam on top...just to seal in the flavour...! The coffee beans which are specially made for this type of machine then come in three different flavours of coffee and even varieties of fruit flavoured coffee which doesn't sound very appealing to me personally but some of you might be in to all that new age coffee.
Enlighten your senses and put the pleasure back into coffee......
Summary: Great value for money
