Estee Lauder Pure Color Lip Gloss
by Sassy29
My one weakness when out shopping is lip glosses. In my life I have probably purchased over a hundred lip glosses and lost about half of them. I don't know why I loose so many, the only thing I can come up with is that my handbag is eating them, because I put my lip gloss in my hand bag and then it vanishes. Sometime I loose them ... accidentally on purpose just so I can justify buying another one (or two :D). In the day I like to wear quite natural pink colours, but if I am going out then I like to experiment with more vibrant colours. When it comes to choosing a lip gloss I usually go with the one which has the prettiest tube and as I am incredibly girly and love anything that sparkles or shimmers. I have found that this is not always the best way to choose a lip gloss that is actually worth while. From now on I will be reading Dooyoo reviews to see which one is the best.
**** Packaging and Application ****
This lip gloss comes in a clear, 6ml, rectangular tube. The screw lid is a vibrant gold colour and attached to the lid is a long slim wand applicator. This lip gloss is really eye catching, and the gold trim and lid makes it look very sophisticated and glamorous.
As I said, this lip gloss has a wand applicator, which I much prefer over a squeezy tube, as it is less messy and sticky. Like with all wand applicators, all you need to do is take the wand out of the tube and apply to the top and bottom of your lips. I normally have to reinsert it back in to the tube twice to get enough gloss on my lips, I find this to be pretty standard with most lip glosses.
**** Choice of colours ****
This lip gloss comes in 23 different colours:

**** Price and Availibility ****
These lip glosses can be purchased from the Estée Lauder website, Debenham and most high end shops which sell cosmetics. The price of this lip gloss is £17.00, which is quite expensive for a lipgloss. I would normally spend between £5-£10 pounds on a lip gloss.
**** My Thoughts ****
The reason I purchased this lip gloss is because I had a £20.00 voucher for Debenhams. I thought I would try a more expensive lip gloss to see if there was a difference between that and a cheaper lip gloss and also because I love the Estée Lauder range of cosmetics. I find that if I spend more money on products than the the quality is normally better and this lip gloss is no acception. Even though I think this is good value for money, because of the quality of it, it is still quite expensive for a lip gloss and not everyone can afford, or justify, spending £17.00 on a lipgloss. I would probably recommend saving what you would have spent on lots of cheaper lip glosses and investing in one of these.
The colour I purchased is called shocking pink. I would say that the colour, even though called shocking pick, is not too bold and bright. It is a very soft, subtle peachy colour. It goes on smoothly, is very pigmented and lasts for hours. There is a slight sparkle and shimmer to this lip gloss which i love and a slight subtle smell of roses and stawberries. The staying power of this gloss is amazing! I eat and drink all day at work and the lip gloss doesn't budge.
When I usually wear lip gloss I end up wiping it off because I find a lot of glosses to be very sticky and uncomfortably on my lips. On a night outside I am usually picking my hair out of my lip gloss which drives me crazy. This lip gloss is not too sticky and i have never felt like it is irritating me to the point of wanting to wipe it off. I would usually wear a lip balm under my lip gloss to keep them moistured but with this gloss there is no need too.
**** Overall ****
I would definitely buy more colours in this range as all the colours are beautiful. It is really worth spending a bit more money and investing in a great lip gloss. It looks fantastic and I have had a lot of compliments on it. I love the way it feels on my lips and I can't resist rubbing my lips together and puckering up. I am going to give this lip gloss 5/5 as this has become an essential piece of my make-up which I can't live without. Read the complete review |

Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Duo
Another Estee Lauder review...when it comes to Estee Lauder I don't have many negative comments to make!
I bought this in the shade 'raisins' back in January basically because a million blogs/youtube videos told me to! A gorgeous duo with one pale pink shimmer and a ... plummy/reddish (sounds gross!) shade.
CLAIMS:
High performance
Blends easily
Long wearing, colour stays true, won't fade
As far as performance goes I can't fault this, it stays on and doesn't crease which is a big factor for me. This product is very versatile with the option of wearing the colours together or alone. For a softer day time look I might wear the lighter colour all over the lid with a touch of the plum in the socket, or for a stronger look I'd wear the plum all over the lid with the light colour as a brow highlight.
I really like the packaging, feels very luxurious! It comes with a mirror in the lid and an applicator which may be handy for some, I personally don't use either. I don't tend to like the applicators that come with eyeshadows, I find them small and fiddly and would much rather use a bristle brush with a longer handle to apply the product.
The product is fragrance free which is perfect for those of you that find fragrances irritating. I find it to be very buildable and high pigmented which I love.
It costs £23.00 for the duo and I've found it to be good value for money, it's had a lot of use since I bought it and I still have a lot left. I don't always spend so much on eyeshadows but I'd heard a lot about this so thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did. I will definately re-purchase this and maybe try some different shades.
